Clear Channel has been doing this kind of crap and worse to their competition for years. Oddly enough, nobody ever seems to go after them. Think radio sucks nowadays? It does, and you can blame it on the uglymonopoly that has gone pretty much unchecked in that industry.
Yes, but you missed the repeated points that AOL usually does NOT send a bounce. The traffic, if blocked, is done so silently. The messages are just black-holed and never arrive. You'll probably never know unless one of your users calls you and says "Dude, where's my carp?"
Too bad that a majority of my friends who use AIM won't show up as online in iChat. Fire up any other AIM client and there they are. I have seen many others who have this same problem, yet have uncovered no solution.:-/
I'm sure that Northwest will find some way to get the state of MN to pay for all the legal fees here, anyway. NW is a taxpayer supported company in Minnesota. They thank the fine citizens of that state by price gouging them.
I'm here to second the FireWire proposal. Be sure you get a controller with an Oxford 9xx chipset and go to it. OtherWorld Computing has some great enclosures, decent prices and good customer service.
Zactly. During the dot-bomb days of stupidity, a kid could be flipping burgers one day and have a business card with Senior Systems and Network Engineer on it the next. His unemployment is just Darwinism in the workforce, IMHO.
Paul Thurrott is and always has been most interested in Paul Thurrott and how the world relates to Paul Thurrott. He used to have a great website, until it got buried behind how much Paul Thurrott loves Paul Thurrott and how much you love Paul Thurrott, too.
Try Video Lan Client (VLC) for Mac OS. It seems able to play just about everything out there, and can do so full screen. It has served me well. Cheers.
Dealontheweb.com keeps an eye on great deals on iPods and other fun goodies. iPod deals, if any, can be found down in the Consumer Electronics section. Check daily as they update their deals often. (No, I'm not affiliated with them at all.)
Mod this parent up. It's the first clear explanation of what this does and how.
Uhhhh, you're using WindowsXP.
How did you find this webpage?
What are you doing here?
You're making me very nervous.
Is this a trick?
I have to go now.

Mod the parent up. It pretty much sums up the situation.
Amen brother.
Will they let you use OS X as a compromise? I'm being serious.
D'oh! Wait, I thought Apple was dying. Now you're all just confusing me.
Yeah but, I have a really low number...
Yes. Yes you do.

"All your serif belong to us."
:)
Go ahead, mod me down. I know I would.
Why? Seriously, why?
Your "Apple Rep"? Who exactly is this "Apple Rep," a VAR? ...some guy with and Apple polo shirt?
By using this spiffy program to sync it. Well, if you have an iPod. Oh, and a Mac. Please donate to the author.

Oh, I didn't just insult the poster, did I?

It plays iTunes encrypted songs (Protected AAC files) by launching iTunes/Quicktime in the background and faking it. Seriously.
Tell you what: You give me some reason to cap out my bandwidth for a few months straight and I'll get back to you with the results. How about that?

My people call it "iTunes."
Note to self: Don't hire this moron who patches a DC in the middle of the afternoon.
My music seems to play at normal speed on my iPod. :)
What we *really* need is a radio program that could teach Slashdotters how to spell.
