  1. Re:What about societal accountability? on When Students Become Informers · · Score: 1

I agree, after 100+ posts of people complaining about the rights of the person that made the threats it's refreshing to find someone that can understand the real issue here. A person made a threat and when reported they are complaining about the person that reported them, rather than taking responsiblity for their behavior.

  2. Any info on ACDSee Ad Supported Version? on Spyware · · Score: 1

The ACDSee image viewer has paid and ad supported versions. Does anyone know if the Ad supported version has been checked for possible privacy and security problems?

It's do different than Id releasing the first level of Doom for free, introduce people to your product. Baen has already been releasing the first 50 to 100 pages of their books on the net for a long time. This just takes it a bit further.

If that's what they believe, better drop the "intelligence" part from your description of them. If the point of allowing an attack on Pearl Harbor was to get the US into a war, one battleship in the harbor would have worked just as well as eight.

In many cases the companies will release games once they reach the age that their is no more revenue from them. Infocomm released their text based games a longtime ago and recently PC Gamer had a whole CD of top quality games from the 80's and early 90's. Included where things like Descent, Kings Quest I, Links etc.

  6. Re:money to TW? nah on D&D Trailer · · Score: 1

Since the production company that put up the money to produce it depends on ticket, video and DVD sales to recoup its costs, I guess you don't care about them making a sequel or any other movies in the future.

Most of this useless land that the Libertarians talk about is vast majority of the land area the Western States and Alaska. Before you start selling it off think of the outroar people would have if they discover the government had just sold New Mexico off to a private company.

  8. Re:Some factual errors.... on The Rise Of QNX · · Score: 1

I did my first programming with QNX on ICON computers. Does anybody else remember using Alice Pascal or WATFILE, or Word Perfect under the enmulated DOS shell? Last the big thing was they QNX was to run the Amiga, when the QNX was at the University of Waterloo they gave hints to that, of course nothing happened.

  9. Be careful with the Falcon 4.0 code on Open Source Flight Sims · · Score: 1
Earlier the code for Falcon 4 was leaked on the net. EBattlefield states: As I am sure you can all guess the base in question is the now famous leaked Falcon 4 source code. We must stress that this code will not be further developed and released as eRazor and Co. are currently doing, rather it will be looked at for guidance and ideas in our fledgling effort until we have our own base developed. We wish to remain free of all legal implications in any way we can.

Even if you look at it, it's too much, anyone who sees that code cannot work on this project! If they do, its open season for EA's lawyers.
