  1. Re:Industrial espionage and "unknown" on German EU Delegate Sues 'Unknown' Over Echelon · · Score: 1

While European governments are probably not innately morally any "purer" than the US, the US is way out there on its own as far as Echelon-like practices go. If Echelon is reality (and that's a big "if"), the US is the only player.

The fact that the European governments actually spend time on doing something remotely useful has nothing to do with this, of course. Boy, I wonder what it's like to live in a country where paranoia is the rule instead of the exception.

It's a form of protest. If you are sick of the system as is, protest vote for a third party.

Same thing just happened in Belgium. Unfortunately in Europe, that third party often happens to be on the extreme-right side of the political spectrum. Has anybody on this site ever considered going into politics themselves to actually change something?

The only consumers upgrading these days are 3d gamers and graphics/video folks

You seem to be forgetting the barbaric hordes we usually refer to as lusers. You know, those people that buy a newer computer because the neighbour has one as well? Or because I/you/we tell them to?

To a certain extent yes, but keep in mind what exactly the rest of the world is composed of. Do you think there will be overwhelming demand in Africa, China or the Eastern Bloc countries (Russia, it's satellites and former parts of Russia that are now independent) which are now Third World nations? IMO, the demand will be high (ie: everyone wants one), but few can afford one. The rest of the world is primarly composted of Second and Third World nations.

Tell me, where are you from? Because you're forgetting to mention either the USA(which is most likely where you're from), or Europe. Please, be aware of the fact that we barbaric hordes in the western part of Europe have computers as well. Yes, and we actually know how to operate them. We don't need no Americans to tell us how to type dir /w, got that?

The biggest issue at hand is not how, and when, and why to raise children, but if. You need a license for just about everything, except for having children. The average Joe won't even think twice about having children and boom, there's another whining brat. Don't get me wrong, I like kids on the average and they usually like me as well, but the people that whine about how they want children make me sick! The question is not, do you want children? The question is, do those children want you? Trust me, there's plenty of human beings strolling around this planet. Should you decide not to procreate, I doubt anybody will really miss two or three extra children

Most people seem to be of the opinion that the occasional killing spree that happens is a terrible thing, which it probably is for the people concerned.
