I see a fart joke forming here:) Something in the lines of: My body is able to live at low pressure for only a few minutes before releasing high pressure. I'm sure one of you can do better?
Well this case opens up for IFPI to dictate which sites to close without going to court. Basically it creates precedence for any private organisation to censor sites they don't like for any reason. Right now this is going to the supreme court but if they find that the verdict was right it will basically force ISP's to create a filter of sites which features material that a private organisation, in this case IFPI, find intrusive on their bussiness (or the business of their clients)
They forgot Denmark on that list. The danish courts have already started building the great firewall of Denmark. It's sad to see a country priding itself on their freedom of speech, allow private organisations to determine what the danish internet users should see or not see. I'm thinking of the IFPI vs Tele2 case in which the court decided that Tele2 should block access to the AllOfMp3 site. Mark my words... This is the beginning of the end of uncensored internet in Denmark. This is truly sad times.
Well you are of course right but I suspect a lot of the code that Novell is using in their products was not intended to be of "value" to Microsoft. Like it or not but a lot of open source software was written because they wanted an alternative to Microsoft products and not because they eventually wanted Microsoft to benefit from it.
Isn't this just the next step in Open Source evolution? I find it hard to believe that no one saw this coming. Imho it was just a matter of time before the community got screwed by commercial interests. It will be interesting to see what the future will bring. Maybe this turns out to be alright (doubtfully) or maybe this is the beginning of a new age of open source development. I for one will be sitting on the edge of my chair and follow the steps of evolution.
That is quite an achievement, especially the rovers are quite impressive as they were supposed to only last for a short period of time. I guess the mars weather has been kind.
After reading through a lot of the comments it seems people have a lot of issues with FF crashing after the upgrade to FF2. I have been using FF2 since the early betas and have only once seen a crash. I use FF extensively on both my windows and Ubuntu box and I have several plugins installed. I'm just wondering where all these crashes comes from? Is it the pages you are viewing that contain some obscure scripts or is it special plugins that makes it crash?
Who read: New Bender Released.
Now that would truly be good news
That actually made me laugh quite a bit :)
One of the best first posts in a long time... Good one!
