  1. Actually a good sign on Lucasfilm Sanctions Star Wars Fan Films · · Score: 2

Personnaly I like the idea. Instead of trying to fight parodies they are saying they can take a joke and are supportting artists that parody them. It's better than them trying to shut down parody sites to "protect" the Star Wars name.

  2. Goodbye privacy on Quova Inc. Completes Trace of 4 billion IP Addresses · · Score: 1

Up until now you could stop companies from tracking you browsing by turning off cookies on your browser (or at least from 3rd party ppl). Now they can track your usage no matter what. And it is just a matter of time before the gov't wants to use it to trace you.

Perhaps they'll even go as far as tracing your web browsing patterns with your tax returns, census information and medical records. They don't need much more to get a "profile" on you and arrest your for being a potential murderer.

Washington, United States of Blame - The ScrewYou Corporation has filed a suit against Jill Brady, a young girl from Florida, for infringing on their patent on lemonade stands.

"We will not stand any infringment on our patents, especially from little 12-year-old girls who don't have the finances to defend themselves in court" said ScrewYou's CEO, Anthony Sueyou.

ScrewYou has filed for damages of $50,000,000 in "lost revenue" due to little Jill's lemonade stand. "Everyone of her customer's could potentially be a ScrewYou customer. Since we have no idea how long she has been running this illegal stand we think this is only fair," said ScrewYou's lawyers after they got out of a case they settled against the Boy Scouts over the infringment of ScrewYou's fire patent.

  5. Re:glaciers? on Mars May Be Dry After All · · Score: 1

The article said that there is no water below the surface on Mars. They were hoping to be able to drill for water on manned missions, but now it seems that this is an impossibility. The water in the glaciers retreated to the ice caps on Mars, which is the only place on the planet (so it seems) that you can get water now.

  6. I was worried for a minute... on The Full Nader Plus a Taste of Bush and Gore · · Score: 1

When I first read that Nader had No Reply over the issue of asteriods crashing into the earth I was really worried. But after I thought about it for awhile I relized there is nothing to worry about because all we need to do to stop an asteriod is slap a drilling team in a spaceship with minimum training and no experince and we'll all be fine.

  7. My new improved search method on Enter The 'Stupid Patent Tricks' Contest · · Score: 1

I propose a patent on my new search alogorith that 'pre-searches' text fields by putting them is a thing I call an 'index'. Now, one can 'search' this 'index' to find a 'word' or 'text'. This system will be fully compatible with a system I already patented called 'one-click searching'.
