  1. I wouldn't worry. on Developing for the Playstation 2? · · Score: 5, Funny

The plane in Somerset hit way to close to home today. Thank god the pilot was brave enough to crash before he got to any major cities, not to be selfish but I'm glad that my hometown of Pittsburgh wasn't hit.

  3. Another small piece... on Battlebots Battles It Out: TV Show Versus IRC · · Score: 1, Troll

Every time a site like this is crushed by corporaet power, we see a small part of what was great about the internet disappear. Sure the IRC is filled with childish actions, and bots just add to the childishness. But those children are geeks using tools written by geeks on a network developed by geeks, and now... what was my point... oh yeah, and now some money grubbing corporation has stolen a small part of our childish geek actions in the name of "trademark". Some day we will look at the internet, remember what it was, and wonder why the only thing left is the Web with all of its redundant pop-up adds for cameras that open new adds for cameras when you close them. Yes, someday corporate stupidity and greed will leave us with nothing but constant advertisement on the internet and we will try to fight, but we will have no place to put our bots to talk to non-existant IRC servers to constantly publish "M1cR050f7 5uX" every 1.5 seconds on our favorite channel there by crippling our ability to do anything.

It's called capitalism, gentlemen. And anything that isn't capitalism is communism. So which will it be?? Um, I don't think you understand how our democracy works.

You see in a pure capitalist society you will have a hand full of people become extremely rich and everyone else will be extremely poor. Only through socialist policies can the government protect the everyone else through things like minimum wage, safety regulations, health standards, and all the other things that protect the workers and consumers. If it weren't for the government protecting your rights from large corporations we would all be living in bunkhouses of large factories in a form of pseudo-slavery.

I'm not saying that the government completely protect our right, they do things that put the corporations before us too. But there are things in place that are meant to protect us, and there are currently acts in congress that target personal privacy specifically so that companies like Amazon can't distribute your information on a whim and give you no choice in the matter.

I'm pretty sure this fits the definition of sexual harrassment of the employee, and requesting the client to change their background constitutes a violation of their rights - unless you prevented them from having any in your EULA...which I have problems with too... My point being, that sometimes you can indiscriminantly wander a step too far into someone's life by using a remote administration tool, and everybody can be unhappy.

Ok, you are very mistaken about what sexual harrassment is. Bascially there are two possibilities to your situation, remote administration of a home or a work computer.

In the case of the home computer, you have the right to use porn as your background, but if a technician sees it while administrating your machine they DO NOT have the right to sue you, but they have the right to refuse to administrat your machine ever again. However, if it is a work PC and you have a porn image, well first your an idiot since anyone in your office can scream sexual harrassment, but also the technician admining your machine can sue you and your company.

Though they may have not been very smooth they allowed us fans to see plays from various angles to see if the correct call was being made. For instance a touchdown by the Ravens was being displuted and you could see the side angle which showed the ball over the line and the front view which showed the ball in his hands. They did this also for runs down the sideline. It's very useful for analysis of instants of plays where you need several camera view to figure out what is going on.
