BTW - Read the article again. They are talking about "Supply Chain Management". This is tracking packages and palletes of goods through a factory from start of manufacture to shipping. Go to a factory, learn how a bar code is used (at a previous employer we tracked all stages of steel production using bar code technology... do you think we were worried about someone walking out of the plant with a 20 Ton coil of steel under their arm?).
Have you ever had a UPS/FedEx/Airborne delivery? Bet that scared the $hit out of you knowing that not only did someone have a package with a barcode with your name on it (that could be tracked over the internet by those malicious/. 31337 h4x0rs), but they also knew where you lived.

OK, I'm not entitled to vote in the USA (being one of those lowly paid H1-B Visa workers being exploited (sorry, wrong post)), but this is the first time I have watched the political process in the USA.
After watching the debates (they are like car crashes - you have to slow down and have a look), I really can't see how you can say that there is no "nerd" slant. Just take a look at Gore. The guy carries and USES a Palm Pilot, and knows that the internet is more than just AOL. If he could configure a beowlf cluster you guys would be clamouring all over him 8^).
- Conference calling (stick your finger in someone elses ear).
- Maintenance contract (coton buds sent to you once a month).
- Coloured face plates (gloves).
- Handsfree car kit (stick your toe in you ear - only available to drivers of automatic 4x4's and Lexii).
It could only happen in Japan... but despite how rediculous this sort of technology might sound, the related spinoff tech might actually have real applications.
Personally, I hope that we get a version of Linux working on the Palm soon, before WindowsCE becomes the only mainstream interface.
Umm, but isn't Palm with its >70% market share the dominant interface for this type of device??
Oh, me bad... you mean that you want to access your calendar, contacts, todo list, notepad functions from a command line interface (painful using grafitti, jot or even t9)... or do you want an overriding X style interface instead?

I am not taking a job from a skilled US citizen, there were none available with my skill set. I am being compensated for my time more than adequately... I work roughly a 10 hour day (does that make me a slacker?)... and I still have time for a social life. Sometimes I think the 90% of the population that are morons (as stated in a previous message) are the ones who are bitching about the H1-B Visas 'cos pappy dun told em thet thay was much better then them thar cus theys learnt to read and write proper like. Get a life, get over it... are you out of a job because of an H1-B Visa recipient? Are you being paid less becasue of an H1-B recipient??
