Admittedly, it's kind of a small one- but I wasn't able to find a single document for it online. Evidently you're supposed to look through the sample configs to learn things and read the comments.
For some reason I prefer exim's really incredible online docs to this approach- probably just because I can use the index.
Anyways, I'm not a zealot in this case, but I am an exim guy. While people complain that it 'may be' insecure, it doesn't seem to be that insecure to me where I've used it.
It's good that you're standing up for what you believe in...
...however, if this kind of idea takes off, how long do you think it's going to be till the record companies show that they are not selling as much as they used to... and then blame it on P2P music networks.
I'm with you here. You're running webservers. If you're going to buy a ton of them, the performance differences between the two is negligible (sp). However, the one thing that sun has that I've yet to see a PC have is the console/ok prompt. WHats better, the netra line has a prompt even lower than the ok prompt that lets you do a remote power on from the console.
That just makes life a hell of a lot easier. At my last company, we had a rack of 6 Netra T1's, unconfigured, but plugged in and powered off. They were attached to our console server as well. If we had a webserver crash, we'd log into the jumpstart machine, set it up, hit the console on one of the 'downed' machines, power it up, and kick off the install. An hour later we'd have a new webserver ready to go. Then we could wander down to our colocation at our leisure. It was great.
Anyways, SUN all the way. It'll make your life a lot easier.
I don't know, I have a problem with this toy. Here's the sitch:
I have one Linux machine (2.2.11 running X with afterstep as the manager) and an NT machine. Sometimes when I switch from the NT machine to the Linux machine, the mouse freaks out and moves to the upper right hand corner of the screen, totally useless. The only way to get it to 'come back to life' seems to be rolling the scroll wheel up a few times, then I seem to be able to move it again.
Has anyone else had this problem? Admittedly, I haven't looked into it too much, so there may be a really easy fix (or maybe I'm just doing something wrong). Anyways, just thought I'd share my experience.
I find it pretty regular that most people accept that if there are aliens, they are probably 'advanced', as the sheer level of technology it would take to perform space travel as they 'have' would require it.
What I find strange is that any of us could assume that we know ANYTHING about what an 'advanced culture' would do. It's advanced, it's beyond us right now, and for us to make any assumptions.. well, you know the old addage.
It's good to see that we have people in the world who are so readily able to define who is and isn't a geek. Get over yourself. Oh, though I guess in the traditional sense, he/she is right in some way. You know, geeks used to bite heads off of chickens, and linux doesn't really have much to do with that.. well.. at least not where I came from:)
Actually.. Qwest has been doing long distance for quite some time.. ever since they bought LCI. Data is whats new to them, and they're going to have no problem at least partially filling those pipes.
Heh. I work for Qwest, most notably their Internet Solutions branch, IE: We're the hosting guys. I got to test the network from the LA area to Virginia. 60ms ping times. Damn that was cool. Qwest is going to be big, watchout.
Um.. look at the kid that they cast as Anakin in the PM. Look at Luke. You're saying that Leo doesn't fit with the blonde wimpy look? Jeese, you'd almost get the feeling folks here are threatened by the fact that Leo seems to be a pretty popular young entertainer. I'm not saying he's a wonderful actor, but I do think that he looks the part. And for those of you threatening not to see the movie.. right, if you're affected so greatly by this decision, then you're so into Star Wars that you'd see it even if it was an hour and a half of Lucas dancing about the screen naked with a light saber.;)
People actually use hotmail addresses professionally? I always assumed it was more of a personal email type thing.

Man, what a screwed up world.

Damn! I just wish they'd made it a bit more realistic.. you know, let you actually control the car.
...targeting :)
Then we could use the night vision for what it was originally intended...
Moose meat anyone?
