Being briefly forced to run some tools that my company allowed some Amigatard write only for his machine it is the only operating system that has ever made me overjoyed to get back a DOS machine.
Having to suffer the hate generated from the patent trolling Mothership to not having the rest of the computing world jump for joy that iOS has yet again 'magically' ripped off old Android features and tried to pass them off as 'Apple Innovations!!!'.
Great way to further Science! Have anyone considering doing any sort of basic bread and butter scientific research worry about some idiotic and juvenile 'award' getting handed out to you just for the 'lulz!'.
They have been in the console market for ten years now and they still think they can buy/bribe/threaten their way to beating Sony and Nintendo.
Sony has some 21 first party studios. Nintendo has about 10.
Microsoft has only 3 or so first party studios.
So Microsoft is forced to play the bribe and threaten crap with publishers since they have almost nothing in the way of exclusive games to compete with Sony and Nintendo's huge first party lineups.
No wonder they went from distant 2nd place last gen to last place this gen.

It really is sad. Apple fans were never like this years ago. I know I certainly wasn't. Yes there was fanboyism. But somehow Apple's move into the cellphone market turned Apple fans into foaming at the mouth batshit insane cultists.
One just has to see what has become of major Apple sites like AppleInsider:

* Anything not made by Apple SUCKS
* Anything not made by Apple would be AMAZING if Apple did it
* 'Teh OMG!!! iPhone' caused or is responsible for X. Where X is basically EVERYTHING. Wars, famines, stock market swings, celebrity breakups, medical breakthroughs.
Sony's PS3 is the 3rd fastest selling console in history - only the PS2 and Wii sold at a faster rate. The PS3 has outsold the PS3 the Xbox 360 every year it has been on the market while being 100-200 dollars more expensive.
And all this was while the PS3 was still the launch price of the PS2.
Take the fanboy goggles off and come join reality with the rest of us.
The Wii U will have a 25 gigabyte disc format like the PS3's 25/50 gigabytes discs, but it won't be a standard Blu-Ray drive and won't play Blu-Ray movies.
Let's just sum up just how hard Google outplayed Apple and Google with Motorola Mobility acquisition:
* Feigned interest in the Nortel patent with joke bids
* Apple and Microsoft fell for the bait and overpayed for Nortel's patents
* Meanwhile Google is off negotiating with Motorola for the purchase of their mobile/settop box/IPTV division
* Apple and Microsoft and their proxies are plastering the Net with justification for using patents as a weapon against the Android Juggernaut
* Google drops the Motorola Mobility purchase bomb
* Google now owns the largest mobile patent war chest with some 17,000 patents and and additional 7,500 pending
* Apple and Microsoft have now made the case for Google to go after their each of their products without mercy with their newly acquired massive patent war chest
An Epic Win for Google.
Motorola Mobile has some 3 billion in cash, so the actual purchase price is around 9.5 billion for Google. The price per patent is an absolute steal compared to the money Apple and Microsoft were tricked into spending for the less valuable Nortel patents.
And for a cherry on top of this epic win for Google, they get Motorola's set top box and IPTV products and capabilities as a bonus.
You can tell just how major this win for Google is by just how desperate the spin from the Apple and Microsoft proxies in the press are pumping out.
If you could go back in time ten years ago and show people what the Xbox would turn into with crap like this no one would have believed you and would have told you to fuck off for making such a stupid joke.

Only the effectively dead Symbian is keeping Microsoft out of last place in the cellphone market right now.
Free stuff is nice, but developers aren't going to waste their time on a dying platform like Windows Phone 7.
