I would highly suspect that a lot of people can type a heck of a lot faster than they can write. Can you write 70 words a minute? If I can get 3 words a minute into my Palm, I'd be happy!
Sure, a pen is more "traditional", but it sure isn't efficient! Give me keyboards! Give me speach recognition (although I have privacy concerns with that... try writing your resume at the office that way!), give me thought-readers (uh-oh, how'd Meg Ryan's breasts end up in my presentation?)
The update package includes a CRL containing the two certificates, and an installable revocation handler that consults the CRL on the local machine, rather than attempting to use the CDP mechanism
Ok, so when I download the CRL program that identifies the stolen certificates, do I trust the signature on it? If I was a malicious hacker that had a bogus certificate, I'd post an "update that rectifies the problem"... q:]
The funnier thought is that Verisign probably billed Microsoft for the 3 certificates they gave out too... on that account, it's too bad they were caught!
Man, most of the songs I got from Napster I already own, so it's not even stealing! It just happens to be in a more convenient format than my old tapes, LP's and 8-tracks! (hey, I can rip my own CD's...)
What if my band decides to release, copyright-free, a song titled "etallicaMay - nterEay andmanSay"?
If the RIAA and Napster block this song because it just so happens to be the same as the Piglatin translation of a copyrighted song, can I sue them for blocking it?
Any lawyers out there that can shed some light? Any bands out there that want to release some non-copyrighted material?
Actually, there are some very HIGH-END graphics systems based on UNIX... the company I work for sells a system called "Repri" as a photographic retouching station. Repri is known in the social imaging industry as "the" premier retouching system, and the Repri Color Space is ideal for representing photographic color on a computer monitor.
Now, having said that, this color management system is not available independently from the Repri system, but it shows that it can, and has been done very well on the UNIX platform.
Actually, their patent is on "42 click SPAM removal"... the business advantages for such a system are enormous. It's also referred to as the "carpul-tunnel" SPAM removal process.

(FYI, it runs on an SGI O2 box)
