First people propose in the news papers. Then they propose on TV. Now, they are proposing on the Internet. How am I supposed to get an original idea how to propose now? Congrats and many years of happiness to you both!
We have certainly come a long way, and there is probably a long way to go.
As for the most addictive game(s) I would have to say either Diablo 2 or that total time killer Half-Life: Counter-Strike. People seem to united under these games, be it in Clans, Guilds, or just as a player, jumping into a game, and bantering with the other players.
One thing to remember though, is that games are just that: games, meant for fun and recreation. People who start to take it more seriously than games ruin it for the rest of the players. Those are my two cents worth.
The company that people were expecting to dominate the market (well, they have been...) finally screwed something up under the legitimate pressure of AMD. A two-chip world, what a wonderful place!!
I was beginning to wonder how long the legal system was going to let big corporations run the tide of the legal system, clogging it with frivolous and repetitive lawsuits. Rambus needs to be tamed. They have a good product and don't need to strong-arm it on companies.
Portable NES? Why, when there the GameBoy Color, and soon GameBoy Advance? I am sure that someone can concoct an adaptor for the old 8-Bit games, that is if you can find any if you didn't save your old NES and the carts....
I can get a Windows-Based laptop, and get similar graphical performance as a PowerBook Pismo (which I have been looking into, for both performance and reliability, and I am a die-hard Windows person).... Mmmm..... About time that ATI had some competition in that department too.
Most unlikely. Sega would be further ahead making games for all of the systems out there to maximize their potential for earning money (which is the other rumor that is going around). Hell, I would love to play Virtua Fighter 3tb on my PS2.
I had never experienced DARE in my schools. They did it the more effective way and had the cops come in, armed with videos, stories and 9mm pistols. Nothing like using force to enforce the drug laws to kids.
I thought that the movie was going to suck, but I have to say that after seeing that trailor, I am thoroughly impressed with what they have done with the movie. Brings back memories... Couldn't help but think what kind of saving role you would have to do to accomplish running down a hall of flames and jumping through a small hole with a door closing.;)
The acronym PSX comes from the development process of the Playstation. The X comes from eXperimental, as in the technology, for the time it was being made, was experimental.
A quick lesson, which I am sure that you have had: Yes, DHCP assigns an IP address when you log into the server that your ISP has. With broadband, chances are that you can leave your connection going all the time, effectively giving your computer a static IP until you shut down or reboot. While you are going, you can still get hacked.
I say aid what is coming. If there is enough demand from those who use your network, let them use Linux. Just make sure that the IT people have a system to goof around with it on. Hell, we have started to use Linux where I am, and it is going to be more and more supported as time goes on.
No, I am not... I am a computer science major, just on his way to learning how the world really works. And remember, a key point to that equation is m which stands for mass. All matter has mass. If there is no mass, and there for no matter, there is no energy. True, a mass can be infinitely small, but there is a mass none-the-less.If m=0 then e=0 as well.
Ok, I know that this country is hardcore into gaming and entertainment. There is currently the PSone, N64, DC, GameBoy/Pocket/Color, PS2 will be here this coming Thursday, and there are at least 3 coming out within a year or so (GB Advance, MS xBox, and GAMECUBE). Now, I cannot possibly see where Indrema fits into all of this, seeing that there have been so many startups that failed, IE: Jaguar, 3DO, M2, Virtual Boy, Nuon, and a lot of older consoles that were dominated by the then-all-powerful Atari. My point is, I see Indrema going the way of all those failed systems. Nintendo, SEGA, and Sony have nothing to worry about from this machine I would fathom. I am going to stick with my Sony console and my GBP.
Here are my $0.02 worth. I still have no idea who to vote for, but the two main candidates are both incompetant imho. I have been using the internet for almost 7 years now (I was a youngin when I started, 13). I have been playing games longer than that. My point is that the candidates are ostricizing the population in America that is becoming the largest population, the 18 to 25 year-olds. I am not some dark, brooding, evil individual because I play games, watch movies, and surf the net. Last I checked, parents were to be responsible for their kids' actions. My parents were involved in my life growing up with games, movies and the internet, and I think that I grew up just fine. When kids do the extremes, it is a blatant cry for attention from people, because people don't give them the attention that they deserve. Children are our future, with the guidance of parents, not the government (known to me from now on as Big Brother) and not the diplomats who themselves seem like a bunch of kids who cannot get along with each other. To make a long post longer, Brown looks like a good candidate for me.
I would like to patent taking note, and that way I can bring suit against anyone who takes notes.. that is how asnine some patents are today... oh well, and I am going to patent elipses too. ^_^
A simple question: Would that make AI (artificial intelligence) actually mean Actual Intelligence? Another question that springs up is what will be the moral implications of this? I mean, for all intents and purposes this will be a cyborg. I know that they are only movies, but what about the Terminator series, or The Matrix? Man makes machine, man rules machine, machine learns, machine destroys man.
I'm sorry, but this whole patent infringement thing is a load of manure! The Glide standard is fading out in favor of D3D and OGL. 3Dfx was recently accepted into the board which is improving OGL standards. If that isn't a sign of 3Dfx caving, I don't know what is.
There is a distinct difference between 3Dfx's architecture and nVidia's architecture. 3Dfx is now using anywhere between 2 and I think 6 VSA100 chips and the highest ones require an external power supply. nVida's current gForce series of chips use only one chip, and doesn't have any extra power needs other than what the mobo can supply. I have to admit that I am looking into a V4 for my new computer, so I don't think that I am biased in any direction.
AOL and Time/Warner uniting is undoubtedly a bad thing. It would effectively be a new Microsoft in a Multimedia world. Time/Warner and AOL would effectively own broadband cable network and cable TV access. This would be a bad thing. A very bad thing. Redundant, I know. I cannot fathom to think of how bad service would be if the merger would happen. Cable TV would lag with how bad service is.
I shouldn't speak ill of it, but AOL has a strangle hold on the Internet, and Time/Warner has a strangle hold on cable TV, not to mention all the multimedia that Time/Warner owns, like their Arcade and computer entertainment division. All that Microsoft would need to match is a cable service... but hey, wouldn't that create competition?
It is amazing to see how far legos have come in the last, oh, 20 years. They have gone from simple building toys, to having electronics in them to being able to program them. I honestly have to admit that I still collect and play with my legos, and if I can use my programming skills to make and AT-AT walk around, then I am all about that.
I would actually have to agree with Mitnick's acceptance of the idea of a DNA Database. Each person's DNA is more unique than a fingerprint. It is also more likely that you are going to find a felon when there are no prints, but a stray strand of hair or eyelash. Finding that stuff is hard, yes, but then, aren't finger prints? Criminology, I would say, is going to boom in the next decade, and if I have to go give blood for the purposes of my rights being protected, then so be it. Let's hope it is only DNA that they want.

Leave it to us humans to destroy the beauty of planets that we have yet to even inhabit with bouncing bundles of robotic goodness.
