In Norway you wouldn't just get compensation from the state as part of your acquittal or when the case got dropped, you'd also get paid by the state for the work you weren't able to perform. And firing someone before they're found guilty would be stupid in on many levels.
Greedy private sector taxing the employers way beyond what reasonably implemented health care really should cost... Is the real Evil.
US health care expenditure is higher per capita than anywhere in the world by a large margin, does not cover a large portion of your population nor encourage preventive health care... yet while it might be the 'best' in the world for those who can pay out their asses, it's still just by a small margin compared to other well-off industrialized countries.
Which is kinda weird, cause you guys have a pretty low cost of living compared to e.g. Norway, yet use more money and have worse coverage. Bite the sour apple and admit you guys fucked up, it's quickly over and then you can move on.
And maybe you politicized a topic into left/right liberal/conservative where one could in stead have an adult discussion with only the facts of the case. Politicizing is a cheap shot to force people into one of two camps and killing all future discussion.
I can hang out with people who only speak Japanese and have a good time. I've even been on a couple of dates where the girl didn't speak any English. I've never taken a Japanese class.
And I bet you got the typical american accent (or danish or what ever, they're all horrible) that is so grating to the ear.
There is no substitute for a thorough, academically based intensive language course you get at good universities. You'll be spending the rest of your time trying to correct faults in your pronunciation if you don't get them right from the start. And there's only one series of study materials that I've come over that I would recommend; Genki.
They all floored the break. Which makes me think, being an armchair driver in a runaway toyota, is that I'd let go of the break and hope what ever the software glitch was it would be related to breaks being floored.
Sorry, but the thing about Europe is bullshit.
The macbooks are so popular in Norway that pretty much _everyone_ in university has one. And I'm not saying 'everyone' as in 20%, but literally almost everyone.
Yeah, cause everyone out there is just waiting for a chance to stick it to the man (or fruit) and rid themselves of the chains of tyranny.
Using, and developing for, an iPod touch (can't afford the iPhone) I fail to see how my hands are 'tied' or how a regular user would ever 'realize their hands are tied'. Dream on Mr. Revolutionary Geek, and make sure you fight the power of sleek designs.
You can even write Obj-C++, where you are using Objective C objects and syntax in C++. (Or is it the other way? ^_^)
Only problem I ever had was with the GCC compiler that was included with versions prior to iPhone OS 3.0 SDK, which would spew out warnings for C++ objects with non-trivial ctors embedded in Obj-C objects even though I did explicit calls to ctor/dtor's. Now it's done automatically with the right compiler flag.
Really... Is Java easier to program games with than C++/Obj-C? Making an assumption on behalf of other people on such things means you have a narrow view of the variety of programmers out there.
These kinds of 'theories' makes me realize that no matter how much you reject gods, you still seek to fill in the empty space with 'something'. They are like mathematicians trying to find god in division by zero.
That's not a problem... It's basically how EVE Online works with it's star systems.
You need to route communication that is 'global' to a dedicate machine, and considering that it's far less resource intensive than the game play itself, one machine should be able to handle millions of users. (Think IRC server with some extra fun stuff)
Too few players and there's no sense of a living, persistent world; too many players and that world is stifling and uninviting.
It will only be stifling and uninviting if you force/encourage everyone to go to the same places and dungeons. In EVE there's regularly 50k players online at peak hours, and the central market system has up to 1300 players. The game play is such that you do not feel yourself 'crowded in', while still making it clear that you're one amongst many.
You might think it's a bad thing, yet that's looking at it from the WoW perspective were 'everyone is a hero'. In EVE there are only a few real hero's, yet those that are well known have done something of true significance in the game. It's not just a fake hero feeling from playing a game that was designed to make everyone achieve the same thing.
'Resign, or we will make it so that you'll never get another job in education.'
Fight da man, weekend warrior Byron.
Thank you for your understanding of the lacking language skills of us non-native English speakers.
Now take your fucking prejudices and go play wow or something.
Sushi isn't raw fish, sashimi is.
Sushi is rice with vinegar.
No it's not... Once of the best ways of _increasing_ your resting metabolism is by getting healthy and gaining some muscle.

You missed his point beca... OMG THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!!!!
(and not in the slightly pedophile way of thinking of the children)

You underestimate the effort that might be needed to add such features to an UI code-base that wasn't designed for it.

You kinda slept through the part where he was talking about acupuncture as being effective due to the placebo effect?

No one is ever going to sleep with above-average people like you.
It was developed by someone in yet another country. Canada. Why wasn't it tested in Canada?
I'm guessing they felt that no one would bother reading the article anyway so only one farm would be enough.
OMG, YOU'RE RIGHT!!!@@!#
The fertilizing conspiracy explains EVERYTHING, even the alien abductions we've been hearing about for decades.
I'm sorry, but what is that supposed to prove? Having children is not a proof that you've had sex...

Sweden is where they got polar bears, switzerland is where the kangaroos are.
Well, they should just make the first underwater vacation spot.
They can also tell me that I'm not allowed to walk up behind you, put a gun against the back of your head and pull the trigger.
The travesty, the injustice, we demand freedom for the people!
