Probably corporate politics, we all know how friendly that can be? Probably axed because of an affiliation with person A which manager B didn't like. Maybe I've just been working on Wall street to long, where it happens all too (very too) often! AY!
intermed. was into it a while ago, now getting back into it deeper(more advanced shell scripting, etc). I was just kidding with my comment though. I hope nobody took me seriously there.:)
I wouldn't pay much attention to this MS psychology; It's this guy's job to make people feel warm and cudly about windows and make an attempt at pulling linux support...I wouldn't listen to his words. Linux has attracted too much attention from big name corps to "go down". Linux is loved and embraced. Windows is "tolerated".
I think that this is a treasure to the Linux community because it could only benefit further development of applications. Many apps arent ported over to Linux from the Win32 platform because of time and costs involved. Now that borland has introduced this tool to us, porting a Linux app to Win32 and vice versa should be a snap. The linux community can have great coding done by great win32 developers who were weary about developing for linux platform. This is great! Now that we will be seeing more linux apps and support from other companies that make great win32 software only, this could only increase linux's desktop/server share. I can't wait to get coding with this app.

Your words make so much sense my fellow Slashdotter. As a person who has grown up in the US, I have always wondered why students from Japan, and other countries excel is many areas over students in the US. I totally agree with your view on overprotection. The United States in general relies on such actions in order to exist peacefully in a shelled lifstyle. "If I don't see or hear it, then it doesn't exist". Students from other countries excel because they are not exposed to such limits. They are given the opportunity to excel farther than a US student because they are not what I consider "doubted". Instead of pushing a young mind further, the US has introduced almost unbreakable standard where "if you are in 1st grade then you must learn addition. Multiplication will come in second grade", and so on. There are alot of students that are gifted to the point where they comprehend "advanced" concepts but are forced to learn at the same pace as those that might not understand as well. I think that if the bar was raised and young minds were pushed further then the US wouldnt be so far behind other countries. Expose young minds to advanced concepts early on. Whose is to say that a 9 yr old cant understand the basic concepts of Java? C++? I was programming at 12. Many have started at 9, 10 and so on. The mind is limitless. With enough work, we can understand almost anything.
I remember watching an episode of Star Trek. A young child was studying calculus around the 1st grade. Although this may seem unrealistic, I know many of you understand where I am headed. Thank you.
Wasn't Sega the same company that announced that Dreamcast sales are sluggish? Weren't they also the same company to announce that they will halt dreamcast manufacturing? I don't get it? Am I missing something here?
You mean, I now have to pay for all of the transfer errors? Get real, if it wasn't for the people, then there would be no music to download. So Napster, when you start getting all this money on our behalf, start sending some ca$h, because you couldn't be doing it without people like myself; The ones who share.
With tons of other file sharing programs, why pay for music? The whole point of using Napster is to get free music. I don't care about the record companies, and I don't care about the artists. I care about how fat my wallet is. Shelling out money for "sound" doesn't go well with me anymore.
The internet was made for communication. To charge someone for them to be able to link to you is nonsense. Let me pose a question...Why do you post anything on a site at all? To be seen, right? A person does not post information for it not to be seen.
Ahhhh!!, what ever happened to the days where big business and the govt kept their lousy fucking hands off of OUR home???
(home=the net)
Big business (where everyone is a "me too") and the govt (making stupid fucking "digital laws and acts") is only hurting the net. It will, in my opinion, lead to the net's demise. We can't let this happen. GEEKS UNITE!
Does he...uh...Yahoo?

Will the movie be open source? Will I be able to have access to a copy of the original film so that I can modify it and recompile?
