    For most jobs you would be right, but intelligence is somewhat special. Female agents having an affair with high ranked intelligence people of the target country is a common tactic used by all powers. Also, the head of CIA is a very sensitive position, you want a person there whom you can absolutely trust, not a dishonest one.

    Actually, most of the European bailouts is paid by Germany. Also, total costs are not comparable, only per capita ones.

    This is not a victory for renewables, but for democracy. German citizens want to go renewable enough that they are willing to swallow the costs. Germany is a rich enough country to do that, and rich countries can accomplish amazing things when they have the will to do so. That doesn't mean renewable became any more viable economically, or that other poorer countries have any chance of replicating this feat.

    I think they want to make a competitor to Google Docs, which utilises the cloud in many ways. For example, multiple users can edit a documet at the same time which can be quite useful.

    I didn't say current cars aren't locked down, just that it would be possible to create an open car that has something more advanced than a 'wrench interface'. OP blamed computer control for the lockdown, but the real reason is not that it's impossible to create a modern car that's open, just that manufacturers don't want to make the cars open.
