Yeah, this was pretty much my experience as well.

Particularly it annoyed me that I couldn't get a feeling for what was happening. I tried uploading a few files, none came through. I tried looking for some files, but it seems like that was before it was useful at all.

All in all I think that shows that a static web interface is not suitable for this type of app.

The chair isn't everything. I have never gotten pains from working at my desk at home, but I have sometimes experienced it at school.

Just by comparing how friends who do get aches sit compared to me I'd say the most important part isn't the chair. Most people tend to have their keyboard so close to the edge of the desk that they can't rest anything on the desk surface. Personally I have a desk with a "corner" for the monitor, it supports even a 21" with lots of room to spare.

This allows me to have a keyboard 10-20cm from the edge of the desk. Since it's a natural type keyboard this let's me rest my elbows on the desk.

I've found that those times I get aches from school I it's because their setup doesn't allow me to rest my arms.

Yes, but when I said that the mayority of people have cellphones I didn't mean "To call when their cars break down." If that happens and you're out of battery for you cellphone I'm sure you won't have any problem borrowing a phone to call for help.

But it's a bit harder to go in and say "Hi! Could I borrow your phone? I need to let my friend know that I won't make it to the movie." Not to mention having to call complete strangers who live close to where you desided to meet your friend and say. "Would you be so kind as to give a message outside by the busstop that I'll take the train instead - thankyouverymuch."

Cellphone networks should today be taken for granted just as landlines are. Having good landlines (And there's nothing wrong with the Swedish telephone system, it's just too expensive. ;-) is not an excuse to have insufficient cellphone covering. (Well, it's an excuse, just a rather poor one.)

But I think that if this type of behaviour is common for engineers or managers (or any other employee) where you're working then it could be time to start looking for a new job. It seems like the company is soon to appear on "fuckedcompany.com". Because it's quite apparent that nothing good will come out of the situation.

And the more you push the people (managers or engineers) the more set they will become in their bad attitudes. Either someone has to make a cleansing happen. Let people air their problems and try to get to the bottom of it. Otherwise the situation will only get worse, and the only people left will be the incompetent and those that are "loyal" enough to go down with the ship. (And there is nothing good about that.)

Likewise a project manager should know how to code and have some experience with it. Even if they don't know the details they need to know what they can expect the "guys in the trenches" to do for them. And if you'd read anything about the game then you'd know that it's not a DM FPS. It's more similar to Half-Life in style it seems.

BTW, the PA guys only did a one block strip of the game. They never did comment on it in their "E3 experiences" diaries. (Or at least I couldn't find it if they did.) Seems to me that this implies that they only got a chance to look at the monitors outside.

An really, who gives a fuck what people think now? When it's realeased we'll get some real reviews of the game, and can try it out for ourselves. That is people will make up their minds about buying the game or not.
