    How's that work if they're 'blacklisted' ?

  3. just use your airport card on Wireless Hacks for G4 PowerBooks? · · Score: 2, Interesting

the simplest solution is to just use the internal airport card with an external antenna. just plug a wire (with the proper connector) into the airport card, bypassing the internal antenna. route the cable near the edge of the laptop, dremel a small hole, poke the cable through, get an adaptor for those larger antenna cables and buy/make yourself a better antenna. I hear pringles cans work good for longer distances.

I've always wondered whether multiple connections could be made off of a single 4-pair CAT5 cable. since ethernet only uses 4 of the 8 cables, shouldn't you be able to save cable and use 4 for one jack, and 4 for the other, just so long as you matched the colors up right on the other end?

How about 1 ethernet jack, and two phone lines off the same 4pair cable? Does the changing voltage on phone ring mess up the ethernet?

The No-Virus flag is an option that has been available in MS Internet Explorer since 4.02b3. Unfortunately it also disables all Windows updates so you don't see Microsoft pushing it too hard.

when you have a state with a political system so weak that it buckles to the whims of a vocal environmental wacko minority who have convinced them that 'any' additional source of energy, clean or otherwise, is bad. It has been more than 8 years since any new source of energy has been allowed to be built. Just wait until they start scheduling brown or blackouts in residential areas during high usage periods. We'll see how soon the electricity dependant people tell the vocal environmental left where they can stick their fancy ideas.

I meant that the strong attention to it only after the closeness of the election is suspect. Not that this was planned out ahead of time. It would appear that they found a small inconsistency, and are making a mountain out of a molehill in order to reap the benefit of deciding votes that may not be theirs.

  11. Re:Read the numbers. on Statistics, Elections, Frustration · · Score: 1
How can one prove that they voted for Buchanan instead of voting for Gore? The ballots are anonymous. For Senator Wexler to say that hundreds of people voted mistakenly is entirely unprovable.

How does someone even remember that they made a mistake? You punch a hole, fold it in half, drop it in a box, and then realize it was the wrong hole? Whatever happened to double and triple checking your work before it's too late? I certainly did with mine because anyone can make a mistake. You've even got certified election officials all over the polling places, and no one thought to ask them a question about this 'blatantly confusing' ballot?

Does anyone realize that sample ballots were mailed to each registered voter long before the election and no one brought up the point then? This seems to be just a last minute democratic ruse to steal the election if the recount goes south on them.
