I didn't say that. Just that you can't use java script benchmarks, especially with different browsers, to compare CPU performance.
And there is a lot more to a browser than its java script performance. I use Firefox for ad blocking on my phone. I couldn't care less if the web page java script took 4 ms instead of 2 ms if I am going to see ads, and loose even more time loading them and scrolling them.
Airplaine mode saves a lot of juice. If you are not going to answer or make any phone calls / SMS, why keep the cellphone radio on? Why turn off data? I don't see any benefit. You can turn off data roaming. It is even off by default.
Can you temporarily disable host file for a single web site? Does the host file warns you when content is blocked? There is a reason why people prefer an extension to editing a file (which also requires administrative rights).
What do you think they do with their shipped phones? They all end-up being sold, even if it is with a discount. If they ship too many phones during a quarter, it will hurt their shipment for the next. In the end, it's the same thing. You can't ship twice has many phones for years and not sell them.
The reality as always is that corporations pay nothing in tax.
That's wrong. It depends on the price elasticity of the demand. In the end it's likely that Apple is paying part of that corporate tax, and passing another part to the consumers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
Because Apple is no longer a computer company. They are a phone/tablet company. They don't care about their Mac Pro sales unless they can have very high margins, much larger than competing PC makers. That's what the current Mac Pro is, a niche product for all two people out there who need an expensive workstation with professional video cards / CPU but no room for storage.
You'd likely end up spending much more than 40h / week to build and maintain your house and grow and prepare your food. I wouldn't consider that having more freedom. You would have less free / leisure / sleep time. And you would also need to pay your property taxes so you would need a little income. And I hope you didn't plan on getting sick or having children as you will either be out of luck or on welfare.
And yet the most durable phones on the market are.
Most high end phones are. I expect a $1000 phone to be more durable than a cheap $100 one. Yet, the $1000 phone would be even more durable if it was not made in metal.
smartwatch+phone+bt headset is my killer mix and it works fantastically. glance at watch, press answer, talk to person on my headset. Best of all worlds.
Why do you need the watch? Sounds like you only need a headset with a button.
The terrorist is already optional, at least on site. You only need to be able to install a cell-phone with a data plan as well as the hardware required to remote control the car. No need for self-driving and this can be done by modifying any current car/truck. The terrorist can sit comfortably in ISIS' headquarters while remote controlling the truck. It just happens to be cheaper to sacrifice a terrorist than to build that setup.
I meant a regular (non-Tesla) EV would be fine a second vehicle for most people. A Tesla is a fine first vehicle for most people. Don't forget many people spends as much on gas as on their car. A lot of people have two cars and both are reliable enough for a long trip.
I also hear that MS-DOS has never been attacked on a smart phone.

Don't confuse java script tests with CPU tests. Java script tests test the browser more than the CPU.
it could be worse, you could be on satellite
because it is going to be blocked by traffic? This is an alternative to elevated trains or subways... both much more expensive.
did you run mkfs.ext4?
But with a display .2" larger and a pen. And the battery is even smaller.
That's why they set a minimum of 0.1 C. So it's not 50-50.
But I don't see the benefit over a simple button.
Microsoft is getting closer and closer to the walled garden.
but since this is Slashdot:
M$ = bad
Apple = good

except that you can develop iOS apps just fine on the cheaper (but still overpriced) Mac mini
Does the average American watches all the most expensive channels? That's a lot for TV. My cable bill is about $30 CAD ($23 USD).

I wonder if they understand what $5 billion is, and that it is different from 5 billion cents http://verizonmath.blogspot.ca...

Yeah of course plastic phones still exist. There is still a trend in the high end phone market to switch to metal for no good reason.
