it's things such as these that are going to start the downfall of true, opensource Linux. i hoped i would never here words like that - especially from someone like Paul Vixie, an old-schooler.
After looking at the comparison, it seems one thing is clear:
These new consoles are all working towards becoming computers you plug into your TV. The only thing the Indrema is missing is a login shell. All you need to do is just by a kick-ass video card and plug your Linux box into your TV, and you'll be years ahead of these consoles.
I didn't know there was an x-server for rush boards. Unfortunately, I bought a rush board from Jazz Multimedia who is now out of business (therefore no new drivers for windows). Hopefully, I can find the xserver and run it. Glad I came across your post!
I thought this story was very helpful with links to the "evidence" that an Edgy upgrade is potentially dangerous, so I posted it to digg.com at http://digg.com/linux_unix/Slashdot_Upgrading_to_U buntu_Edgy_Eft_a_Nightmare
I think the main point here is that people want an OSS clone of a Microsoft product so they can have a "free" alternative.
The post wasn't "I really hate Exchange/Outlook, is there an OSS solution that is just like it?"
oh so true!

is scifi.com down, or what?
I guess this is Gnutella's cue to officially come into the free music scene?
If Gnutella can't do it, I'm sure someone out there is already devising a plan to do it right this time.
Actually, I think you are halfway right.
Odd kernel versions such as 2.1 or 2.3 are considered unstable, development kernels.
