  3. They haven't had a "great desktop" in 7 years.

  4. Yeah 3-5 years is just pushing the disposable economy. No, they should be forced to support it for the expected life of the device, which means major appliances should be a minimum of 10 years.

  5. In 20+ years of working on computers, I don't think I have ever once bricked a device while updating firmware. And you've lost count? Maybe you shouldn't be touching stuff like that so much.

He already said he has a Roku attached to it so your smart TV comment is wrong. I know of almost know one with a Bluray or DVD player anymore, because as he said, as a society we have moved on, why spend money on a tech that is on it's way out the door. If you don't believe me look at BlockBuster, or Hollywood Video, or Redbox who is going to have to shift to streaming if they want to survive.

When the rental places cannot survive you know the format is doomed.

  8. You think Apple wants to save you money????

None of those are hate speech as they all define a personal belief with no moral judgement of another. Now if you were to change those to "I don't think it's right for *belief* and if you do, you deserve *punishment*", then you may be crossing over the line.

  16. So you agree that the HRC campaign did not start it. No one is claiming they did not think about using it.
