    How many giant volcanic eruptions have we been experiencing in the past century or so. Oh none right. Volcanic eruptions are about 2% of CO2 emissions currently.

That's close but not really accurate, it just sounds like you feel superior to everyone else. The real problem is in this age of 24 hour news channels I still get more news from my local 6pm News then I do from 24 hours of Fox, CNN, MSNBC, They all harp on the same story non stop never touching one the myriad of other stuff happening in the worlds. We have no journalists willing to hold peoples feet to the fire. It's like the Press, the Politicians and their Corporate masters are all sitting around in some weird mutual reach around. It's not that we don;t want the News, it's that we are never even offered it.

    Anything to back that up with? Because everything I have seen seems to explain why speeds haven't changed and that to increase speed by say 10% takes 21% more energy. So airlines would rather save fuel then reduce flight times. Drag equals the square of the increase in speed.

    The whole idea behind keeping such divisive topics in the forefront (ie abortion, immigration, gay rights, etc) is to keep the country divided. It makes it so much easier to move public opinion when everyone is distracted.
