  1. Got Wesnoth? on Piracy Killing PC Gaming? · · Score: 1

The Battle for Wesnoth (http://www.wesnoth.org/) is an open source, turn based strategy game with binaries available for linux, windows, mac and more. It has a nice wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_for_Wesnoth, if you'd like to have a look-see. It addresses each of your three points nicely I think.

It is pretty much the ONLY game I have been playing since I discovered it seven months ago. It is easy to jump into and VERY HARD to master. The multiplayer community is vibrant, and international.

    See for yourself!

Just because a gamer has no life and plays 10 hours a day

Anybody who commits "10 hours" a day, or even 3 hours a day, to a hobby sounds like motivated individual to me. If I devoted a large part of my day to swing dancing, or playing chess, or , would you say that I have "no life"? What if I enjoy playing Diplomacy all day? Or Counterstrike?

And if we're jumping on the no-lifers out there, then maybe we should throw in people who watch TV or drink all day. In that sense, is a being hardcore gamer so bad? Maybe I'm overreacting, but who can judge the difference between doing something passionately (like game for ten hours on a Saturday), and having no life?

IMHO, making a (good) trailer is an art form. I get a lot of enjoyment out of a trailer that shows scenes that are not connected (i.e. it doesn't walk through the movie), but not just "all the best parts". The mark of a poorly made trailer is to give away the best lines or special effects in the whole movie, leaving you to wonder "is there any reason for me to see this now?".

The trailers for Unbreakable and also for The Matrix were AWESOME! They were interesting to watch, gave a rough idea as to the genre of film, and had enough cool lines/effects to make you want more. After seeing a good trailer, you don't just want to go and see the movie, you want to know "what is that movie about?".
