    They released the update to Oreo in India back in December 2017, so I doubt the drivers are an issue. I have the same hardware variant sold there, XT1900-2.

    But the USA economy is still currently larger than China, despite 325M vs 1.4B population.
    $61,000 GDP per capita vs $8,500 per capita.
    China's GDP growth has recently gone flat for the last year, USA is still going up.

    It would force all the "designed in USA, made in China" companies to move manufacturing back to USA

    If they were lying about patch levels, why is my Moto X4 still on 1 August 2017?
    The only thing they're lying about is updating it to Android 8. Apparently "pending partner support" - it's a retail model. No carriers are involved. Who the hell are the partners they're waiting on?

    Autopilot was improving with every update, until Tesla had a falling out with the original developers of the system and they had to go it alone. Now it's been killing drivers.

    Except they're copying the Essential PH1, not any Apple product.

  13. If the manufacturer can determine a bodged repair caused the damage you're claiming under warranty, they don't have to repair it.
    I wouldn't be surprised if they're also allowed to charge you for the time they spent finding that out before they return your unfixed product.

    Most of my countries power is from renewable, about 80% I think.

    It's mostly from hydro power. Wind and solar isn't the only option.

    Thermal solar plants can produce power at night too. The sun heats up stuff, that heat is used to spin turbines.

    The majority of their energy use - the manufacturing of their products - is still dirty old coal.

    But that's ok, because it's being burnt in China, not USA.

    Instead they did what ever they wanted to do it it.

    You can bet every other company getting data from Facebook is doing the same thing. They'll be archiving it all for later use too.

    Seat belts are good. They might stop be smashing head first through the windscreen of my car if I crash. They might break my collarbone in the process.

    Device marketed as a safety device that meets no safety standards is bad.

    It really inspires confidence in a safety product when the website describing its operation says "When the wrist band makes contact with water the transmitter sends an acoustic signal to the pool alarm which emits a loud penetrating"

    Penetrating what? Tentacle to rescue your drowning child?

    It's not even an HTML rendering issue, it's an image.

    They also feel the need to state "WRISTBAND TRANSMITTER - The Wristband is worn on the wrist" Where else do you wear a wristband?
