Windows XP supports NX and Windows Vista supports ASLR
It's probably because they haven't been testing against XP/Vista since 52ESR
Maybe they didn't like being stuck with the DirectX 9c API, since that's the latest that XP supports. How are they supposed to compete with the performance of the other browsers if they're stuck on old API's for hardware accelerated rendering?
You could do the same thing on a bus. There's more people on a bus than a hyperloop pod, and if it's done in the middle of rush hour in the middle of the CBD in a large city, it's going to shut down the entire city.
A hyperloop isn't going to be the only way to get from A to B. If it's not working, people will drive, fly, train or bus instead. The only ones losing money will be insurance companies. The airlines and bus/train companies will get a nice profit boost. The hyperloop company will get a whole lot of business doing the repairs.
If a tunnel collapses, it's probably about as hard to mount a rescue operation as a tunnel collapse in a subway system.
I just don't see the value in screening passengers when there is a larger attack surface sitting on the ground. You don't need to be a psycho suicide bomber to attack from the outside either, like a passenger would be.
You can't hijack a hyperloop and crash it in to a building. While the cost of damage would be very high, the risk to life isn't really any different than a bus or train full of people. How hard would it be to derail a passenger train with an IED on the tracks? You only need enough explosive to cut through a single rail.
You shouldn't be maintaining a DNS server if you don't know what a KSK is. If you're not maintaining a DNS server, you don't need to know what a KSK is.
How California would impose such a ban wasn’t clear. Although the state has the power to set its own air pollution standards, it needs the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s approval to do so. Nichols acknowledged that the Trump administration, which is already feuding with the Air Resources Board over greenhouse gases, almost certainly wouldn’t allow California to impose a ban on internal-combustion engine vehicles.
ambient indoor lighting may be enough to power a calculator, but it's only going to make minutes of difference to a watch that would otherwise last only a day.
They say it takes an hour a day to charge in > 10k lux. Too bad if it's an overcast day. You'd need to spend over 5 hours in the "sun" then. Every day.
And the notifications for a solar watch are LED's... which would be hard to read in direct sunlight... Seems like an LCD semi-smart watch like the Asus Vivo Watch is a better idea. Black & white graphical LCD, 7 days battery life. Sunlight readable. Pitty the app software is a bit shit.
This is more like a ban on sales of new ICE powered cars. All they can really do about existing cars is to tighten the emissions regulations, which require EPA approval.
1/1,000,000 Unless you're under 13 or have a sibling.
Perhaps they just mean out of all 7.5 billion faces in the world right now, 7,500 of them will unlock your phone. I assume there is really, really fine print about the chances being much higher if the face belongs to someone who looks similar to you, like a twin or even a sibling.
Sure, most of the wifi/bt chips have an FM radio built in too. It enable the feature it requires an antenna. It's usually done via the headphone cable, as you can't really make a decent antenna for ~100MHz signals inside a phone. The optimal length is around 1.7m. The headphone jack needs low-pass filters so it can be used an antenna. It can't be electrically connected to the metal body of a phone without a filter.
You don't need to side-load an app to replace this feature. There are already apps in the Play Store that do this. Has been for years. The API that allows it has been around since Android 4.0.3
Pretty stupid example there. So your kiosk is presenting an Android unlock screen to the public, and anyone with a an NFC tag gets full access to it to do as they please?
They're not removing NFC from Android, they're removing the SmartLock option of registering an NFC tag to unlock your phone.
An NSA contractor stole highly classified documents, but before he could sell them, they got stolen.
Because he had no other reason to take home classified documents.
Last year's antivirus? This happened two years ago.

How do I visit their casinos then?

Eric Cartman had quite a lot of fun with Amazon Alexa.
Self driving trucks don't go on strike

USB 3 is still serial, it has separate transmit and receive signals, like old fashion serial protocols like RS-232 and RS-422

Aside from drop bears, they carry chlamydia.
All the wildlife there is out to kill you.
It explains why they're delaying the rollover instead of doing it regardless of impact to the "lazy ISP's".
The headline does say "Lazy ISPs, Technical Faults"
(Added emphasis mine, of course)

I based my comment on TFA

I haven't ever bought an iPhone, but I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't even make emergency calls unless you've set up your iTunes account.

You must have forgotten that part where this feature is not compulsory. You may continue to use a passcode.

NFC will be in new phones, Bluetooth LE doesn't obsolete NFC at all. Android Pay doesn't work without NFC.
NFC and Bluetooth LE are different at a hardware level. You can't just upgrade millions of payment terminals to support BLE.
Pretty stupid example there.
