I have yet to find a REAL use for a pda. Is it just me?
Actually, they can be a boon for in-the-field inventory and data collecting. While admittedly not a standard application, a project I'm working on utilizes Bar code scanning PDA's to great effect.
As for personal use, I swear by mine for taking notes and phone numbers. I'm not as likely to discard or lose a $300.00 PDA as I am a sticky note, old printout, napkin, paycheck stub, etc...:).
"Right now, we're not planning native ports of Lotus Notes or Lotus SmartSuite to Linux desktops since the demand from our customers just isn't there yet."
Nor will there ever be such a demand until those applications are made available. IBM would be wise to break that circle and make these ports available. There are those among us who are willing and able to pay top dollar for them.
It's high time someone out there creates the demand, rather than wait for it.

"We're sorry. You need Television 4.01 or greater to view this program."
I think it a wonderful development, actually. People might even get up, turn the TV off and go outside for a change.
Microsoft: "Hey, where on earth were you today?" tm
Let me guess.... You purchased an X-Box recently.

You're not the first to pick a loser.
Swallow your pride. Admit your mistake. Move on.
No need to be bitter.

I have got to score tickets to G3 this time around. Sorry to hear Eric Johnson won't be joining the mayhem, though. :(
As far as this daily fix of MS is concerned...
We share more in common with those little old ladies who watch "Days Of Our Lives" than I care to think about
This is just another soap opera, only all the characters wear glasses taped at the nose piece.
