I wouldn't doubt this in the least. I live in New Jersey (US) and lately there has been a rash of groups raising hell because high school's have 'anti-Indian' names such as 'Redskins'. This just looks like an extension of this concept to me. I think we should take bets on how long it takes for somebody to get offended.
But then again, they have every right because games like this have an influence on people (Read: Columbine), right?
Well perhaps it's because not everybody knows that much about linux security? "The Linux community needs to get a clue when it comes to security." I could not have said it better myself, which is why we publish articles like this. This is intended to be an introduction on the topic for people who do not even know what a capability is.
Obviously it is not that technical and does not give that much detail, but most people do not know the innards of the kernel as well as you. One of our goals is to increase awareness, which is exactly what this article was aimed to do, and does.
You are grossly misinformed. Did you even read the Honeynet page? Their project is to take a cracked box (actually disk dumps of) and piece together the "who, what, when, how, and maybe even why" it was cracked. It's a learning experience, not a cracking exercise.
Perhaps you should read the article before you post such flamebait.

Well damn Netscape for taking an "Enter" as "Submit.":)
Anyways, maybe not Linux but ftp.exe is definately stolen from BSD. Run strings on it or look at this (Googled since I don't have ftp.exe handy for a proof-of-concept) if you don't believe me:
Last week was an outlier -- Black Friday here in the US.
That's your first mistake -- considering _anything_ on slashdot news, instead of opinion.
Looks like the LinuxWorld OpenSolutions Summit is being held in NYC, _not_ the Expo... they're not the same thing.
What part of beta do these people not get?
So set up an internal IRC server and use the GAIM IRC transport. Works like a charm and there is little-to-no end-user rejection.
Um, exactly... hardware you didn't have when you booted your kernel.
Actually Mr. Fenzi is the CO-author of the Security-HOWTO. Who is the other author? Dave Wreski of Guardian Digital.

Did you even read the article? SE Linux and OpenBSD are _both_ mentioned in a sidebar with explinations as to why they "didn't make the cut".
Simple drag & drop file transfer on Windows Explorer via ultra fast USB mode. No proprietary software needed.
Um, got oxymoron?

Just my $.02. Go blast somebody else, please.
Cheers,

Very good thought, and LinuxSecurity interviewed Slava Zavadsky who has already implemented them as a project entitled "Linux Trustees Project":

I have not used them, but maybe somebody else has and would like to comment?
