Have you missed the fact that people all across the nation are angry with both republicans and democrats? More than one republican who assumed that he could just get in front of this movement has been booed off the stage.
Politicians are the problem. The republican/democrat distinction is just a distraction. Both sides want to take away your freedoms and your money - they just pay lip service to different ideals when they do it.
When corporations have the ability to use government policy as a tool to protect their private interests the correct term is not capitalism - it's called fascism.

Maybe it will help if I explain with an analogy.
This tool is a good and useful tool. It is something any mechanic (for that matter any homeowner) should have in his toolbox.
In a pinch you can use these pliers in the place of a wrench, a socket or even a hammer but no sensible person would say that those tools are now obsolete.
Now imagine an entire generation of mechanics who were never taught about socket sets, wrenches or hammers. They were trained to do everything with pliers and not to worry about those other tools. They may not even know those other tools exist.
That's why I am frustrated. You can only watch so many bolt heads get stripped because some idiot was trying to turn it with a pair of pliers instead of using wrench before it gets to be too much to bear.
Mostly spreadsheets are crutches for people who lack the analytical reasoning ability to understand and use relational databases.
Spreadsheets should be used like Notepad is used: a quick and dirty way to sketch something out before actually implementing it with the proper tool.

We've had the technology since the 60s to build reactors that don't produce fuel "waste". The only thing standing in the way of progress in the field for the last 50 years is government interference and anti-nuclear hysteria.

Virtually all human beings are born inquisitive. In a small number of cases this natural characteristic survives the school experience but in the majority of cases it does not. This is a feature (not a bug) of compulsory education.
Let's pass a new law for every single type of driving distraction that comes along instead of writing one law that covers the general case of distracted driving. That way we can make it look like we are responding to every new problem that comes along so we get reelected more easily.

That's easy: Cancel all Comcast services. Find other source of entertainment or other ways to access the shows you want to watch that do not involve paying Comcast. Tell you friends to do the same.
Even if you are the only coder, a distributed system is still better since you're going to have your version, and the version on the server, and you want to be able to play about with your local version before pushing to the server. That's the sort of thing that git/mercurial are excellent at.
I'm not even a coder but I already love git for getting the kernel sources. For years I have been downloading incremental patches from kernel.org but now I can update my tree with a single command.
Just this weekend I installed git and cloned the kernel tree. Then I added the nouveau tree as a remote so I can try out KMS for my nvidia video cards. When I want to update my tree I can use just three commands:
