Could someone please link to the actual video? There are lots of news about it but has anyone even see the video? What are we supposed to be talking about here?
You got modded redundant, it should be insightful. He isn't 'mature'. He stopped growing emotionally the day he started abusing drugs, and that's the reason he talks like the kids you know, 'cause inside, he's still a little boy. A lot of people who look old enough to be called adult really still think like children. You made a good observation there, imo.
You are not in the right when you threaten to somehow commit violence on another person. It's the law, and it's a damn good law. Brown, whose brain appears to not have yet recovered completely from his drug using days, crossed that line. He brought this attention on himself. He's not a hero, he's not rational, he acts pretty deranged. What he really is is another good example to young people why they should not allow themselves to get involved with opiate consumption of any sort, heroin or it's legal prescription pill form. If you're hooked on it now seek help and treatment, before you end up like this poor tortured soul. Heroin addiction is not cool, and it causes you to make some real bad life decisions. Like this guy has. Life's 'heros' are, imho, the people who live within the law, all other's are just 'posers'.
In America we're taught that Henry Ford invented the automobile and the assembly line. And occasionally, the internal combustion engine. Education is kind of propagandist here.
I don't know what U.S. school you went to, ours taught us that Henry Ford invented the assembly line.
Oh man, have you never seen Jurassic Park? They're probably extinct for good reason. Maybe they didn't play well with others, whatever the reason, Mother Nature told 'em to get out of the gene pool. She's got a pretty great record, so far, when it comes to knowing which species should advance and which should be tar-pit food. But we could all have nice warm coats...
whats the matter? can't trade your foodstamps for a new adapter?
You go to school to be an a-hole, or does it come natural to you? See, THAT's exactly the "Superior" attitude a lot of iPhone owners are famous for. A lot of overpriced luxury car owners too. If all you have about you that says "I'm superior to others" is a hunk of plastic phone in your hand, then you have my pity. Some people in this world really think that they are better than others because they 'own' more. They're sad. You come into this life with nothing and you leave with nothing but your life's deeds. I hope someday you "get it." Try not to be a jerk all your life.
yeah, i have an android tablet with microusb the shit is retarded half the time you trying to plug it in upsidedown because it's tiny and if you try and plug it in in a dark room its always shitty and also it won't hold the weight of my tablet so if i leave it hanging off the connecter it could fall and drop. micro usb might be cool for really tiny mp3 players like the sansa clip but for phones or tablets it's shit.
So, put a dot of whiteout on the "up" side off the plug and treat all electrical devices with more care. FTFY.
The article does link to the site (pastebin?) where it says an audio is. If someone can post a link to it... I watched some of the video, this guy is not "operating on all cylinders", as they say. Right off he states he been off heroin for over a year. Maybe he is, who the f knows for sure. He sure doesn't act sober to me.
And if you ever do end up in ANY jail, be respectful to the guards, or they WILL hurt you badly. In the 90's I served 15 days in the county jail in Long Island. A guy who came in was "mouthy" to the guards there, after a couple of days they pulled him out of his cell, which was next to.mine)surrounded him (15guards) while one head guard kicked him mercilessly. Between every kick, the guard yelled, "Who's the big man NOW!! HUH? Who's the big man NOW!" I'll never forget this. Four days later they bring him back to his cell, and he must've gotten their 'message', because he didn't cause any more problems. So, if you're dealing with law enforcement, play it cool, my advice.
Submitter here. I'd like to express my gratitude here, to "Soulskill", and all the other/. editorial staff. I've had a few of my submissions 'cleaned up', and made better by their work. Someone posted some interesting points in the linked article, I've pasted it here. ( Don't shoot the messenger who is an android fan.) Discuss... *** “Apple has reneged on that commitment to the European Commission to change to micro-USB”. This is simply false. Undertaking 4.2.1 states that “if a manufacturer makes available an Adaptor from the Micro-USB connector of a Common EPS to a specific non-Micro-USB socket in the Mobile Phone, it shall constitute compliance”. —http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise... Annex II futher states that “An EPS provided with a detachable cable shall be equipped with a USB Standard-A receptacle. Above requirement also applies to detachable cables used as adaptor i.e. where the Micro-B is replaced by a proprietary plug” —http:// ec.europa.eu/enterprise... Apple’s decision not to use a Micro-USB connector is in keeping with the agreement, as they also offer a Micro-USB to Lightning adaptor. Their charger also appears to be a common EPS, so that any USB-A to Micro-USB cable can be used with it to charge any other compliant phone; and the iPhone 5 can be charge from any other common EPS with a detachable cable (i.e. with a USB-A port, as per the standard."
Just don't place the switch where a passenger might inadvertantly hit/kick it. Years back I was a passenger in a friend's van, and didn't know he'd put a toggle kill switch under the dash near the firewall. The toe of my sneaker flicked it, flame shot out, a big bang was heard. My friend told me about the kill switch then, I flicked it back, but the damage was done. Killed one of the six pistons for good.
Not exactly correct. There are situations where you can legally shoot somebody trying to steal your car beyond a carjacking. Most police departments are not going to be too concerned about your average citizen shooting someone trying to steal their car and few juries would convict someone protecting their property. Make it nighttime, with the car parked in your driveway and it's even better...
I believe that just because you CAN do something doesn't always mean you should. Taking human life over a hunk of metal and plastic may be legal where you are at, it would be morally f-ed up to do. If the thief is coming at you (or someone) in order to harm you, that'd be different. But to kill a human being over a theft of property? In many ways you might regret your choice right after, or fifty years after that free-wheeling decision of yours. I've heard somewhere that if you really want to 'piss off' God, murder another one of his creations. And what you posted doing would be murder when you could've just walked away and let the police handle it. A good, moral man knows that there are times to stand and fight like a man, and there are times to walk away like one, no harm, no foul on your part.
EU law requires phones to be chargeable via microUSB. US law does not. Are you also pissed off that Apple charges more in the EU than they do in the US?
It's not a law, just an agreement between mfg's and standards bodies which have no enforcement authority.
I stand corrected, thank you sir. I'm happy to learn that it's an uncontested agreement between the corporations. So, they can get along, when they want to.:-)
And corporations 'lobby' (i.e. bribe off) our elected officials to vote in favor of the laws said corp. wants enacted. Your right, the whole system stinks and it is the broken patent law system that's ultimately to blame. These companies are in a long drawn out war and want to get every advantage they can. So they fight every seemingly insignificant point out in courts, knowing they might lose some battles, might win some, enough to give them that tiny edge that might, down the line, win them the war. They are looking to still be players in "the game" 5/10 years from now. It's still childish whiny shit, IMHO. Play fair with dignity and morality, make the best phone you can, and let the consumers decide who wins this fight. Too much to ask nowadays of these businesses, I guess we still have a lot of lot of years of these inane lawsuits. Sets a poor example to the new generations of people. You know, they're our kids, the ones who, for better or worse, will inherit the world.
EU law requires phones to be chargeable via microUSB. US law does not. Are you also pissed off that Apple charges more in the EU than they do in the US?
Yeah, I know about the universal charger law made in Europe made to curb enviornmental waste, makes a lot of sense and should be made law the world over. As an Android user, nothing Apple does affects my life personally anyways. It's that all you hear about nowadays is Apple crying like a 3 year old in courts, "Waah! He's coloring with my crayon! Make him stop mommy!" Honestly, there are REAL problems in this world that courts can't get to because some kid in the sandbox is always throwing sand at the other kids. This suing over minutia crap has gotten real old. I'd ground my kid if he ever acted the way this Apple company acts, don't have to because he's older than a four year old and knows better.
In a sane world, all Motorola 'should' have to do is firmware update the "rubber band" effect to a different effect, like a hard stop (that isn't patented, I hope) or a changing of screen color when the page ends it's travel. These worldwide nitpicking lawsuits/verdicts have really gotten re-gosh-damned-diculous.
You know what pi**es me off about Apple and their new propietary connectors? Turns out the iphone5 that they sell in Europe comes with a USB adaptor piece, while in other parts of the world people will have to buy all new chargers, cabling, buy new alarm clocks, etc. So apple has always had the ability to have USB connection to transmit data, they're just taking Apple users for a money grab ride. That's why their devices have no SDminicard capability, you're forced to buy their overpriced, prone to breakage, connector cables. Why won't Apple offer that USB connector in the U.S.? Because their customers are 'trained' and resigned to having to buy Apple chargers over and over again? May be...
Presumably you have read Bester's The Stars My Destination? Jaunting (personal teleportation) is somewhat like that.
A great book, read it as a kid. From wikipedia... "The novel included some notable early descriptions of proto-science and fictional technology, among them Bester's portrayal of psionics, [12] including the phenomenon of "jaunting", named after the scientist (Jaunte) who discovered it. Jaunting is the instantaneous teleportation of one's body (and anything one is wearing or carrying). One is able to move up to a thousand miles by just thinking. This suddenly-revealed and near-universal ability totally disrupts the economic balance between the Inner Planets (Venus, Earth, Mars, and the Moon) and the Outer Satellites (various moons of Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune), eventually leading to a war between the two. Jaunting has other effects on the social fabric of the novel's world, and these are examined in true science-fictional fashion. Women of the upper classes are locked away in jaunte-proof rooms "for their protection", the treatment of criminals of necessity goes back to the Victorian "separate system", and freaks and monsters abound." http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stars_My_Destination#section_3

I find that video highly offensive, because of its poor production value and acting.
It had a really lousy opening weekend.
