He claimed to be the exclusive path to God who dwells in heaven. He claimed to be THE truth and THE life. (John 14:6) The claims of Jesus are rather bold. If they are not true, then he would be a lunatic and/or the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on humanity. The key is that you and everyone else has to believe by faith that these claims are true. There is no intellectual or scientific exercise that can substitute for faith.
Are you not assuming, believing without evidence, that nature has always been from the beginning the way we see it today? What if something happened that threw a monkey wrench into the workings of nature in the distant past? By studying nature today, how could we ever find out if something like that indeed happened? What if there were fundamental discontinuities which modern science cannot cross?

A world without the death, which is a form of entropy, it is hard for us to imagine. No one, including any scientists can really cross the divide that death brought into the world. The conquering of death is a concept that cannot be explored by science or human reason, but must be believed by faith. Anybody who cannot be killed, is for that reason alone the most powerful person that exists. Jesus Christ physically conquered death and is now alive in dimensions beyond time and space.
At some point in the not too distant future, he will physically reenter our time dimensions to take over the government of earth. Humans have failed to govern themselves, but have been at constant war with one another. Humans will unite to fight a final war in order to try to kill the One who cannot be killed. This is the war of Armageddon, the last war of God hating humanity.
God isn't the laws, but the maker of the laws, just like an earthly legislature isn't the law, but makes them. That is why there are lobbyists. Lobbying God is called prayer. Prayer, like lobbying works. The main difference is that God can't be bribed like our politicians.
You might have added that the laws that science studies come from the mind of an immutable and eternal God. Since you know something about law, you certainly understand that all laws originate in a mind of one or more persons. The “laws of nature” came from a supreme mind, the mind of God. Therefore God who is real must be a person and this is exactly what is taught in the Bible.
If you were able to teleport yourself back in time to say the the time of Jesus Christ, along with some of our modern technology, much if not all of that technology would be considered magic and you would be considered to be a sorcerer that needs to be burned at the stake or you would be considered a god to be worshiped. While there may be some conservatives that subscribe to the idea of relativism in morals, I would be hard-pressed to name a liberal university or college that does NOT subscribe to the idea that there are no absolutes in morals. It is liberal groups like the ACLU that litigate against displaying absolute moral codes such as the 10 Commandments. I have never heard of a conservative group agitate against moral absolutes like that.
That said, you are right, our culture as a whole has lost its moral compass. The 10 Commandments have now become 10 suggestions. It is now unfortunately true, that the majority of the people don't care anymore, at least to the point of doing something about it, to call our leaders in government and in other institutions to task for lying and cheating. If university presidents and politicians were thrown out of their jobs, when lying and cheating and when other unethical activities take place which they could've stopped, then whose fault is that?
The theory of evolution has no place for moral absolutes. It is strictly the survival of the fittest. You are indeed right, those that can lie and cheat and do other wrong things and get away with it do win and survive. Fortunately there still is justice in the universe. Everybody will one day stand before the Creator God of the universe and give an accounting of how they have lived here on earth.
Liberal universities such as Harvard have taught their students for a long time that there are no absolutes. What makes you think that what you believe is right or wrong is what someone else believes is right and wrong? Our nation and many of these liberal universities were founded on the moral compass provided by the God of the Bible. That has all been thrown out and replaced with relativism. Anyone that violates that oath is breaking the supreme law of the land. Until we the people amend the Constitution, that is the law. Any “law” contrary to that is passed by any political body is null and void.
It is instructive to understand that the Nazis did not use the military, at least initially to round up Jews and other “undesirables” to put into concentration camps. They hired common criminals, gave them a uniform and a gun and told them to go out in the middle of the night to round up certain people who were defenseless. If those people they rounded up had the same kind of weapons that the Nazis gave to their goons, that would've never happened. I suspect that in the US, a significant fraction of the military would be loyal to the Constitution and ignore any commands from the political elites to murder their American friends and relatives wholesale. This seems to be a natural economic cycle, much like cycles in nature such as the solar cycle for example. Since modern economies do not cancel debts, there will be a catastrophic economic collapse worldwide. Out of the ashes of the world economies and the turmoil in the Middle East and its oil resources, the New World order, a world government will arise. This was predicted by the prophet Daniel in the Bible thousands of years ago. It appears that this likely will happen well within the lifetime of most people on this planet right now. Global warming, whether human caused or not, will be a significant contributor to the establishment of a dictatorial one world government.

When Canada switched from gallons to liters, the price of fuel was immediately increased. Most Canadians however never realized that. The same was for the price of many groceries, such as meat. If the US switched, many businesses would also take that as an opportunity to charge more for basic commodities.
I have a few Windows programs that will not run on a Mac. Because Mac are much less likely to get infected by malware, I use it for all activity that requires Internet. For this reason I run Windows in a VM on a Mac. That VM has no network access of any kind. This way I don't have to worry about nasty stuff in my computer. Because Microsoft offered a Windows 8 license rather inexpensively, I have installed one in a VM on my Mac, just to see what all the fuss was about. The old software I run on my normal VM works under XP, which would be get infected in no time flat, if it had a connection to the Internet. The data that old program works with is in a folder on the Mac side. That way it gets backed up by Time Machine.
This is exactly what Apple has done with gatekeeper in their current OSX. Users can choose 3 levels of software protection. The strictest is only to run software from the Apple store which all has a code signature key. After that level comes a restriction to run only software from trusted developers that have been issued a signature key by Apple. The final level is no restriction at all, were all software including Trojans and viruses are allowed. The default is the middle level. All iDevices from Apple are restricted to the highest level, namely only software from the Apple Store is allowed. This is a restriction which some techies consider severe, but ordinary users are perfectly happy with Apple's walled garden. This approach of Apple for security seems to work better than all A/V software combined. There have been no viruses or Trojans for iDevices.

If the US switched, many businesses would also take that as an opportunity to charge more for basic commodities.
I have a few Windows programs that will not run on a Mac. Because Mac are much less likely to get infected by malware, I use it for all activity that requires Internet. For this reason I run Windows in a VM on a Mac. That VM has no network access of any kind. This way I don't have to worry about nasty stuff in my computer. Because Microsoft offered a Windows 8 license rather inexpensively, I have installed one in a VM on my Mac, just to see what all the fuss was about. The old software I run on my normal VM works under XP, which would be get infected in no time flat, if it had a connection to the Internet. The data that old program works with is in a folder on the Mac side. That way it gets backed up by Time Machine.
This is exactly what Apple has done with gatekeeper in their current OSX. Users can choose 3 levels of software protection. The strictest is only to run software from the Apple store which all has a code signature key. After that level comes a restriction to run only software from trusted developers that have been issued a signature key by Apple. The final level is no restriction at all, were all software including Trojans and viruses are allowed. The default is the middle level. All iDevices from Apple are restricted to the highest level, namely only software from the Apple Store is allowed. This is a restriction which some techies consider severe, but ordinary users are perfectly happy with Apple's walled garden. This approach of Apple for security seems to work better than all A/V software combined. There have been no viruses or Trojans for iDevices.
