I believe that it has something to do with the fact that only Apple approved and checked software can be installed thereon. Mac users will be able to enjoy this form of security with OS X 10.8 this summer.

When the computer user erases such a drive, the control data is re-zeroed and the wear leveling controller in the drive starts rearranging data among the various memory chips as soon as the drive is powered up, whether in a computer or otherwise. The addition of contextual pop-up menus to normal menus at the top of the screen or window, is much more intuitive than a bunch of Egyptian hieroglyphics icons. Most people still know how to read. Icons were generally used in the days before people knew how to read. Clicking the right mouse button or using 2 fingers to click the trackpad while the cursor is on a given object on the screen brings up a menu of the most likely choices to manipulate or change that object. The program is called Little Snitch. It allows only specifically permitted programs and services to send data out onto the Internet or even the local network. There are many programs that try to call home for various reasons. There is no reason for a word processing program to access the Internet, especially if the IP address is somewhere in China or Russia. All programs that are not specifically allowed to send data to the Internet, are blocked by default. When a program does try to send something, the user is given the domain name where it wants to send some information. The user is then given a choice to deny access, give access until that program or service quits or deny access completely.
Anyone with that much power and authority to control everybody's wealth, will by definition, get corrupted. About 1900 years ago, the apostle John was given a quick trip into the future, where he saw among other things, such a worldwide system instituted by a one world government. Before computers were invented, it was impossible to keep track of every single person in all their transactions.
