High fructose corn syrup is subsidized by the government. This means that all Americans pay taxes on HCFC already, whether they like it or not. If the corn industry stopped being subsidized then the price would go up on its own and there'd be no need for an additional tax. That way your tax dollars could go to something worth while and people wouldn't be double paying for HCFC products. I see no down side.
The sugar in these drinks is high fructose corn syrup which we all know comes from corn. Corn farming in the united states is subsidized by the federal government.
So taxing products that contain high fructose corn syrup is taxing something that people already pay taxes on!

On July 9, 2008, Activision officially merged with Vivendi Games, culminating in the inclusion of the Blizzard brand name in the title of the resulting holding company, though Blizzard Entertainment remains a separate entity with independent management.Found here.
Robert Kotick has nothing to do with business of Blizzard. Activision's business ethics have no influence on Blizzard Entertainment.

Activision may portray a history of being in it for the money, but Blizzard doesn't. As mentioned before by others; Blizzard is very good at supporting their older titles.
As an educational institution they do have a right to control the content on their networks, but they are also have a responsibility to student success. Therefore they are almost obligated to provide students with a way to de-stress. I ran into this when I was in university a few years ago. There were students playing World of Warcraft in an area designated for studying. I had no problem with them playing but this caused them to create a number of distractions. When I asked the IT department why access to Blizzard servers was allowed they responded with 'As an educational institution we are responsible for student success, as a result we need to provide students with a way to de-stress. This was one of those ways'. I ended up buying $20 noise cancelling headphones and the problem was solved.
No. What he's saying is your analogy is wrong. The default position on the existence of cancer is cancer exists as there is more than enough sufficient evidence to support the theory that cancer exists. Therefore it would be nearly impossible to prove that did not exist.
The default position on the existence of ghosts is, ghosts do not exist, because there is no empirical evidence to support the contrary. Therefore if one is making a positive claim, like ghosts do exist, then the burden of proof is on them. If they are unable to provide sufficient evidence to support their claim then the scientific community will stay with the default position.
This being 2012 it should come as no surprise that games require constant internet connections. First, if you're any type of gamer then you'll have your very own constant internet connection, just like my grandmother. Second, its the easiest and most cost effective way to get more people paying for your product.
I plan on playing this on my PC. The same PC that's always on and connected to the internet. There will be no change between me playing this and me playing Skyrim.

Early estimates put pre-orders at ~3M.
You don't need to be a mathematician to figure figure out that they will make money off of this title. Thus your prediction is far from correct.
I for one am impressed with what Bioware has added to an increasingly bloated genre. I know they will continue to do amazing things in the future.
