If i want to look at ads, i will pick up the local salespaper where i have nothing but ads. an array of differing companies competing for my money. Why not do the same? Just create.ads top level domain for advertisement. If you visit a site that is on the.ads domain, you would get an advertisement site. would make it alot easier to find the best deal online or locally, wouldn't you say?
A: sega flat out refused to listen to the loyal gamers who cried for Streets of Rage, Sonic Adventure 2, Crazy Taxi 2, Shinobi, Shining Force, and all of the rest of the Sega heavy hitters. (now we get some of them, just 3yrs too late....)
B: 3 months after the DC was released the PS2 was announced, and since Sega would not regulate the content allowed on their system, a whole bunch of crap-ass titles came out. (50% crap, 50% gold)
C: No marketing. (but then again, what shit title do you choose to market the system with, anyway?)
There is always going to be different ideas on what actually caused the failure, but one thing is for sure, the company didn't start going downhill until the old President stepped down and gave way to a "newer, bolder" Sega.
it's not an issue of organ factories or evil races being generated, it's a religious issue, you twits.... Think about the implications of cloning yourself. If you value who you are, and have come to accept that you are an individual, maybe not capable of becoming "whatever we want" as the world leads us to believe, but being whatever we choose to make ourselves. Be it good, evil, funny, sad, you name it. all the characteristics that make us who we are, define us as individuals will be shot right out the door. any emotions we cling to become null and void. we no longer become human, but a product created in a fucking lab. You don't beleive in anything." the reason why? because there isn't a "you" anymore, not if there are two just like you.....what if upbringing isn't all that defines a person? then does that mean that evil is inherent? do we REALLY want to find out?
now that fraunhoefer has made the announcement, i am sure the RIAA has contacted their lawyers... I just hope that the internet community can embrace as many standards as possible so as to put the RIAA out of business by way of lawyer-cide....

Your daughter falls to the ground when you step outside to investigate.... as you sit there holding your child's blood-stained body in your hands, crying out to God why did this have to happen, and your daughter asks you to make the pain go away, the assailants speed off as the police eventually arrive. They see your child, look up at you and say.. "well, you shouldn't have sent her outside without a bullet-proof vest..." Now how fair is that? All of you out there take stabs at a company for not being the most secure in the world, and how NO ONE can gain root to your box and just remember, when it does happen, by means of a malicious person, that it was all your fault for letting it happen..... just repeat that in your ignorant little mind, and maybe then will we rid the world of all these people that think crime is the victims fault. Once all of you are gone, i'll start going to bed with my house door unlocked, because the world will be a safer place.
I remember about a year ago working at a wanna-be-ISP where employees where horribly mistreated.... My first day on the job, the guy who hired me didn't show up to train me because he had quit. everyday after that, i was left to deal with angry customers of his solo-project ISP which he was running using our POP's. Needless to say, that is just the beggining. Once that calmed down, then came the whole payroll issue, which was even't an issue considering it didn't exist, well, at least not in the mind of the CEO. After the company accountant manipulated a few things, she was able to get us all paychecks, (thank God). soon after, I decidedc to put a little more faith in the company'as future and try and get things organized that needed it. so I worked my normal 8-5 at the ISP, went to Bi-lo from 6-12, back to the ISP from 1-8, and then back to bi-lo at 9-3. Didn't ask to be paid for it, but didn't even get a thank you, either. a couple of months went by, and i just got fed up and told the CEO that he needed to start backing off and treating his 5 person crew with some respect, or he could just piss his company away.... I quit 1 week before the T-1 lines were disconnected. Now, unless i am salary, i only work what i am paid to work....and i am COMSTANTLY looking for something better......
P.S. Fuck venture capitalists for ruining our economy by making shithole companies look like they are worth a shit. After VC's start the daisy-chain gang-bang on our economy, the average joe-stock trader puts his dollars in, and next thing you know, the economy collapses, and the middle class are now poor because the rich gambled our economy away..... Fuck you stock traders, you will always be no better than the bum on the street. neither of you actually break a sweat, both just sit and expect money to fall in your lap.

yeah, just roll over the days. say for instance, you were born on 12-31-77 of the Gregorian Calendar, then you -3 days of that and add them to the next month and you get 00-03-77. all it would really take is a match-up of the Gregorian and H-cal calendars to figure out all the actual dates, which the h-cal has the gregorian dates printed on the calendar at the bottom of each day.
Granted, there are ALOT of reasons to stick with what we have now, but that doesn't mean to totally disregard a new idea. If you look at the human calendar, you'll notice it is actually alot easier to use, once you get the hang of it. the whole point of it is to have a more precise calendar, which is exactly what the H-cal is.
with the exception of holidays, the 9-5ers can rest easy knowing that they will always have the 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, and the 28th of EVERY month off. Also, when you know that X-day always occurs on X-dates, it tends to streamline the whole process.The only thing i don't like about the calendar is the naming system. i think that we should still keep our day names. It just wouldn't be the same trying to say that "it is a beautiful threeday".
@home has issues with too many wannabe hackers, so they lock down alot of things....unfortunately, when a hacker that is originating from an @home account is reported, they completely ignore it..
I usually get max 200kbytes downstream.....
don't do anything as far as upstream....
also my NNTP downstream NEVER surpasses 80kbytes a sec....
might be a new cap in my area....
This whole thing just disgusts me... First, if it isn't a problem with people that just HAVE to conform...... i.e. (he's not gonna win anyway, so I'll just vote for the lesser of 2 evils....or, as I like to refer to them, people without the balls or brains to have an opinion) than it's the electoral college making sure that our votes don't matter anyway. And right now you have all these people moning and griping about them having to hand count the ballots, going on individual votes......Yeah, like that is a bad thing....heaven forbid your vote actually count for once, sorry it takes so long to count, but that is the price you pay for freedom of choice, you impatient, ungrateful scum.....
And then we have the ballots themselves..... my voting station had 3 different color ballots, and the color I used has YET to be seen on national T.V. (Green Ballot) Kinda odd, don'cha think? Federal election = differing ballots nationwide....
As far as going tech goes though...
have a touch-screen monitor on a netboot with a list of the candidates, and if you haven't heard of the person, than you can just click directly on him/her and get a detailed description of their stance on the issues..... each time a vote is cast, a 1byte packet is sent to a log file for the respective candidate on the voting location's server. these servers should NOT be networked. the log file size should be called in and confirmed by a proofing-group, a representative from each party that is running for presidency.
then the nationwide totals are added up, and a winner is declared...
either that, or segregate the votes....
