Yes, ROT13 huuuuge availability. However, as a one-way hash, they are just two of at least Latin-based Asia-based, one run in five languages using Google Translate. Research encryption far Google translation layer 5 characters to return to its original shape, it is impossible, therefore, MD5 and SHA256 wells.
Yep, for now GT-5 (Google Translate 5) is unbreakable. There's no way to recover the original text from that hash. However, I had to type plaintext into my browser. That seems more than a little insecure against the Puzzle Palace. Also my intended recipient is not going to know what I meant.
This is AWESOME. They're offering me a way to go in and muck up their data about me by giving them fake names, addresses and SSNs. Here goes with my experiment!
If they did, they wouldn't ask. They'd just ask for one or two of those pieces of information. Just my email address should be enough to uniquely identify me if they have the database you think they have. Instead, what they're asking for is information that will allow them to tie multiple records from different sources together and build a unified profile that they will then sell.
The Social Security Administration and the IRS and every employer you've ever had knows it, at the very least. But those are the only people who need to know it and there's no reason to give it to anyone else.
Racoons have forepaws very similar to human hands. Much more so than humans vs. koalas. You see their prints on the ground and it looks like they were made by little babies (except babies don't have sharp claws on the ends of their fingers).
It could be the work of bots. Invested by bots in some months that access thousands of sex sites (and bill the Government), or infested by different bots that route sex site traffic through government computers.
As crazy as the Iranian government seems, they are almost certainly not that stupid. What do you suppose would happen to the Iranian government and their ayatollahs if they shot missiles at Israel?
I am not sure why my post was deleted but here it is again:
No. There is a difference between having a right and having one recognized.
No there's not. You mistakenly assume its the same thing.
No, I have correctly reasoned that they are the same thing. There was no such thing as a "right to free speech" until people decided that they wanted one and stopped trying to enforce laws to control speech. The king of France had a right to rule the country as he saw fit until the people decided he didn't and lopped his head off.
If you want an analogy with that take laws of nature.
No thanks. Rights are descriptions of what kinds of behavior are permitted or protected in society. They are not in any way like laws of nature. You are arguing from the way you want things to be. I am describing how people use the word "right" over many centuries of common and legal use.
You're not with the party line. God created all those diseases in six days. You want to go up against God? It takes us years to wipe out a disease and he can have a new one for you in six days.
I can think of several more if they changed the form factor so it would fit in my pocket. 2"x2"x2" is about the most inconvenient possible form factor for a device of this overall size.
Seriously, you ARE the problem. You're arrogant and fucking lazy.
Fuck the users if they don't already know everything there is to know about everything. They should already know how to use my code even thought I just wrote it and it's novel and interesting and they should be honored just to have the privilege of using my code. Who do they think they are to ask what it's for or how to use it or how it handles errors?
You don't write the ping documentation yourself. You refer to it in the system reference manual. Somebody already wrote acceptable documentation for ping. You should study the ping man entry in, for example, the BSD user manual to see one way to write intelligble, useful documentation.
If you're advising the user to "try ping host xyz" you need to explain why and what to do if it returns the expected or unexpected results and what conclusions he can draw from them.
Given how many internet devices are manufactured in China, wasn't it pretty foreseeable that the majority of devices with X were going to be found to have been manufactured in China?
'Hard to work around' doesn't mean something is patentable. The wheel is pretty hard to work around as well.
If wheels had been patented the way software is patented, there would be a patent for having four lug nuts on those wheels and another one for having six lug nuts and another one for having a plurality of lug nuts wherein the number of lug nuts is either prime or a product of primes.
There's a difference between describing what people mean when they use certain phrases and believing that such things actually exist. I know what natural rights are supposed to be. I also know who Tlaloc was supposed to be, but I don't believe either is a real thing. Rain comes from clouds and is caused by heat from the sun. Rights come from people and are caused by a confluence of interests and agreements as to what people will and will not do.
I'm pretty sure this same discussion was had in 1776 or thereabouts.
Adams: "You're out of your mind, Jefferson. If it were "self evident" that all men were created equal, we'd never have had a king to send this Declaration to in the first place, and such rights as Englishmen have had didn't come from the Creator. They came from a bunch of angry barons that rebelled against King John, captured him and made him sign the Magna Carta."
Jefferson: "I know John, but 'endowed by their Creator' sounds more pious. We're playing for sympathy here. Religious people like to hear about the Creator and we're casting King George as practically an apostate for infringing our freedoms. And you might keep in mind that we're committing treason. We need all the sympathy we can get."
Adams: "OK, I'll give you that. Creator it is. But what about it being self evident that all men are created equal. You own slaves for Christ's sake! Half the Congress does!"
Jefferson: "Well, what do you want to write instead? All white men are created equal? I think that sounds pretty self-serving. Again, sympathy John."
Adams: "Yeah, that sounds pretty bad. How about 'all Englishmen?'"
Jefferson: "We could go with that."
Franklin: "Then the King will say we're not English men but Americans, and don't have the rights of Englishmen."
Adams: "He probably would, the weasel. He's taken everything else away. OK. All men it is."
Jefferson: "I knew you'd come around."
Explain to that former friend that he and his wife are no longer welcome at your house and you will not be going to theirs as long as he's married to this nasty person.

Never met one of those. Atheists don't seem to commonly believe that they have been or will be born again.
What makes you think I can't do that?
The Social Security Administration and the IRS and every employer you've ever had knows it, at the very least. But those are the only people who need to know it and there's no reason to give it to anyone else.
Dammit. I was imagining a dolphin fucking a bat and you just ruined my mental image.

Yeah, it SO worked out that way with Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning.

Definitely not, or we'd have had a vaccine for everything that we thought was a priority years ago. HIV, anyone?
You're not with the party line. God created all those diseases in six days. You want to go up against God? It takes us years to wipe out a disease and he can have a new one for you in six days.
Vaccines are examples where the government very clearly is doing things that are in everyone's best interest.

What's novel about peer to peer communications? Isn't that what the internet is built of?
