There's a user project at the moment about adding WPD compatability to OpenOffice.org (and those programs, like this that support it's file formats and API's). Take a look here for more info.
Currently it's a proprietry addition in StarOffice. Oh and I'd imagine that StarOffice 6 will be out by the time your beta expires.
This is a release of OpenOffice.org 641c (the release from 3 months ago) with the names changed and a finnish dictionary added.
OpenOffice.org themselves are just about to release 1.0 which will be massivley improved on this old build.
Whilst OpenOffice.org approve of people using their code in their own value added packages you should be aware that they are using old (and actually fairly buggy) code.
Yeah I asked them this at the Symbian DevExpo last week and they don't know. It doesn't look like it'll support the mp3 handsfree though. For more info check out the white papers at their 'mobility world' website.
Sadly this was origionally designed by ericsson a while back and just has a few sony beels and whistles added in after they merged their mobile phone units.
The p800 is an exceedingly cool device. I got a chance to play with one last week and it will rock your socks clean off. J2ME and MIDP Java applety things are a main bonus but the whole way it's put thogether, the kick ass UI and the quality Symbian operating system underneath it all is very exciting.
The OS is the same as that in the Nokia 92XX series and their 7650 camera phone.
For OpenOffice.org it should be the upcoming 1.0 release. A GNOME shortcut icon and document thingamys should be done by then. The same should be true for KDE.
I can assure you that as a university student and helper on OpenOffice.org that we are *really* trying to get a decent citation package in there ASAP. In the meantime StarOffice uses a quite nice database based system that I can reccomend slightly.
I would say that it's much easier to build on top of these Open Source packages because all the API's are documented rather than MS's closed system.
I'll certainly be passing your comment along to the OpenOffice.org team.
Morpheus isn't stopping you from going to amazon by going to borders.com at all. Since borders.com is run by amazon and you can use your amazon username and password there just the same.
No, this is OpenOffice.org 641c. I'm a volunteer at OpenOffice and the Mandrake people have been doig some good things. When we release 1.0 sometime in April they'll ship that rather than the commercial StarOffice 6 I think.
Got this in UK too, but with 07xxxxxx etc.
And free incoming calls,
and the biggest and most huggable mobile company in the world! (VodafoneAirTouchMannesman) which is easy to say.

well there's an avantgo client for the symbian os, so no.
Well OpenOffice.org is available under Solaris and thats LGPL so it's a start! :-)

Yes, because market share is the only reason to use a product.
I mean, nobody would want to linux because it's got a low market share....
