  1. What about Trolltech? on Linux Mergers? · · Score: 1

Very easy for the author to come up with a couple of "potential mergers", however, nothing new and interesting.

One of the most interesting companies will be Trolltech. With the success of KDE and a probable success of a Qt-powered Kylix, commercial use of Qt will boom in a way that no one yet can imagine. This beeing good or bad, who knows, but it will be a fact.

No, take a look at Playstation 2 instead. I would like my PC look more like this.

Sweden is a democracy. Point. Please make distinction between constitution and party in power.
What you refer to as "Socialism Democracy" must be social democracy, and that is the largest political party in Sweden. They have been in power in Sweden most of the time since the thirties or something, but for 9 of the past 30 years other more rightwing parties have been in power.

Nazi gold left in Sweden? Who left it there? This is not true. Sweden did some unmoral things during the war, like selling the germans steel so that they could build weapons, and allowing german soldiers to pass through Sweden to go to occupied Norway. This is not anything Swedes are proud of today. It kept Sweden out of war though, and after the war no reconstruction had to be done. Not having to rebuild the country gave Sweden a large competetive advantage, that was used to finance these reforms.

No you won, not with Bluetooth at least. Bluetooth-enabled devices will sync with your desktop pc automatically just by getting close to it. You don't have to think about syncing anymore.

Very true! There are many upcoming technologies that will make them even better. Epoc has a good foundation to make big impact on the PDA market, and Bluetooth will make handheld devices usuable for real. WAP will enable mobile browsing and make surfing easier. Here in Sweden the hottest companies are the ones that develop WAP && e-commerce solutions, and solutions for mpbile internet banking for example.

Compine these technologies with Jini and you get a grasp of the furure.

I like fvwm as well, but it too has bugs. Sometimes when I place new windows on my screen, it changes to another virtual desktop. And it is annoying that Netscapes find dialog does not get focus automatically.

  10. Perhaps a blessing for other languages? on CNN on Common Name Resolution Protocol · · Score: 1
I don't know the details on the Common Name Resolution Protocol, but if it would include support for, say Unicode or 8-bit ascii, it would be a blessing for many languages that are not English. Right know it is really annoying because you cant make a simple url of a word with for example the swedish characters å ä and ö. Other scandinavian languages, german and perhaps others have the same problem. The solution that is commonly used is to make the url with a or o instead of ä or ö but that looks too awkward sometimes. So in many cases english is used instead, although it is a pure swedish site. This is not good for the swedish language, which already is marked with too much english influence.

So I say - go Common Name Resolution Protocol!
