"The Christians" has the same meaning as "The Muslims". It's an over broad statement which sums up all possible different groups under a single banner. Which specific group are you talking about? Mormons, Fundamentalist, Southern Baptists, Catholics, Protestant, or that guy Ed who lives down the street? Each group follows different interpretations of what they consider "Key" aspects of their faith. Some follow a prophet that came after Jesus, some follow a different interpretation of when Baptism is appropriate, some just developed because of a lack of faith based infrastructure to ensure compliance.

Tell me about it. I have to hold myself back because I know if I stretch any more of my coding muscle, no one around here will be able to support what I built. However, I firmly believe that if it requires me to get involved in the support aspect, I did a crappy job so the apps I build tend to either be self-repairing (primitively, compared to what I know I could do) or have the support aspect so automated that the rest of the staff can just click a few buttons and fix the issue. Sometimes, though, I have to throw people bones and include 'bugs' just to give them something that they can use to talk crap about me. It makes them feel better thinking that I'm not as good as they thought I was and that they were able to find that obvious bug which I missed. In the event I don't want to put a bug in something for them to find, I just inflate my ego and do something stupid to give them a chance to try and knock me down a notch. All in all, it's boring but pays well.

Maybe the database was built by the lowest bidder and consists of a single table (which is self referential in a logical way but not physical) of two columns: Name,Value. According to some people I know, it's the most efficient way to store data because you don't have to worry about remembering all them pesky things like.. columns... indexes... foreign keys... actually getting results out..
