Buildings, billboards, overpasses, fences, signs, telephone poles, radio masts, flag poles..anything that either obstructs or formerly-obstructed-but-was-removed has an effect on climate. Do we have a Chicken Little tag?
Please re-read the report you linked to...
Estimated $192 Billion is public + private expenditure, not public plan as you stated.
The increase (according to you is $1B) is actually $10B. The report states a number of times: the rate of increase has stabilized, meaning the costs are known and can be forecast for future planning.
It is important when regurgitating "facts" to get them right. There are plenty of cherry-picked "facts" about health care statistics that seem to say one thing, but are actually the opposite. Everything you wrote implied that those were negative numbers when, in fact, they suggest efforts to curb spending have slowed the year over year increase in costs. Here's the rub...they say at the top...blah blah TREND blah blah. If you are a spin doctor, you look for the word trend, because this means there is data that doesn't follow the trend that you can cherry pick to suggest the opposite is happening.
You can take solace in two things, at 33% your province is paying the least towards healthcare of the provinces and the per capita expenditure for medical care in the US is nearly double that of Canada's. That's right the US pays the most in the world for it's healthcare...it pays the most and gets the least in return...but wait there's more. The per capita thing takes the total amount of money spent and divides it by the population, but the part they forget is the US doesn't insure some 50 million people. If they factored the uninsured into their calculations the US easily doubles the per capita number of any other country.
The CBO estimates at today's rates that in 25 years healthcare in the US will consume 30% of the GDP. Do you think your boss will take a pay cut to pay for that?
If I came off as a little ranty, I apologize, it is a rant worthy topic worth getting right like our lives depend on it.
Seems like every word document is malicious. Word is the "virus", it just has a really crappy vector profile (the user has to pay $200 and install the "virus" manually). Once installed the "virus" will infect any document it opens by saving it in a format only it can read.
screen resolution != 3d horsepower. Game consoles are optimized for...games. Tablets are optimized for general display, like rendering webpages or streaming video.
The ipad3's gpu is about 1/10th the ps3's...so no the iPad3 is not even close. If you are making an argument that the direction of consoles/mobile gaming is headed towards a consolidated platform, I don't disagree, but that's not what you said.
...but incompetence is okay?
They should get fired.
It's not like they made an honest mistake.
It creates two issues, one, people under the limit might have been wrongfully convicted and two, people who were over the limit get to walk.
At that point it's more about hardware specific issues. I'm still blown away by how many devices they support. There should be a tax on the AT&T's of this world to fund the CM team. It's sad but I bet the paper-clip budget for Nokia is many multiples of CM's entire expenditures to date.
This list should be collected somewhere...I'm sure I'm just repeating someone else's suggestion.
The Weirdstone of Brisengamen by Alan Garner...good book for young readers 8-10-ish

I can anecdotally confirm the anesthetic resistance...I had a no more kids procedure done under local. It required two incisions, the first incision felt like tugging and was unremarkable otherwise. The second incision I felt, as in I felt the whole thing, but I didn't want to thrash for fear of having a larger than planned incision. The doctor noticed I was more tense and asked if I could feel "that". He asked a few more questions to confirm that I had indeed felt the whole damn thing, then he shot me up with so much local that I couldn't feel my thighs.
Equating kiddie porn to video games?
One does imaginary harm, the other documents actual harm to a child. Society, except apparently you, has decided to invest effort in singling out people who would produce and/or consume child pornography because they are vile.
I know I love typing on my tablet...the experience is so good that I bought a keyboard to experience it more...
I don't understand why an interface designed for tablets is being forced on desktop users. Win8 is doing the same thing. Works the same on all devices isn't a good thing...If the same thing were tried on cars we'd be steering with a rudder or ailerons.
lose pixels in transit? Really? It's not like they're carrying a tray of marbles...I think we've had the whole "keeping the pixels from spilling out" thing licked since they installed the pixel catcher at the bottom of the internet.
So what you are saying is: Larry tried the "my balls your chin" line on a wood chipper. The wood chipper in this case is Google.
Irreducibly complex? I know...sry

The US is close to the level cap, so it takes 10X more to level than Canada. Canada is more into the role playing aspects.

Did I just jinx it?
