I'm not pretending I have a better word for the external implant idea, but I don't think the skin forms a doughnut-like shape around an earring. You seem like a knit-picky kind of writer (big wordian) and I assume one who wants to be correct, so my $0.02.
It's pretty clear that he has no idea what he's talking about....or his reading comprehension was impeded by all the flames.
I think you will find that it may take a variety of devices to spark interest. The trick is to suggest something in a way that makes them think they thought of it.
Well the poor are lighter and therefore easier to throw overboard, but there sure are a lot of them...but...they ARE poor. My money's on the poor getting the shaft.
The Amiga was an excellent machine that had plenty of hardware improvements over its lifetime. Their big failure was not finding a niche other than low-end video editing and games. The Amiga ran circles around both Macs and PCs, they just sucked as a business.
The ST was litigated out of existence.
Other than those two points you are totally correct.
The biggest known risk is to ground water. The proposed fracking areas also coincide with largely rural areas that use wells for their water supply. If you poison the water table, it can affect any connected aquifer.
crappy Malware and Anti-virus both crush the performance of the machines they're on...why bother? Oh yeah, and the anit-virus software doesn't work. Is it just to keep the masses from spreading too much?
They got a snapshot of someone's open wireless...it's like taking a picture with your garage door open then you complaining that I took a picture of you with your garage door open.
The film manufacturers are stopping production on many varieties of film because it just doesn't sell. Turns out all those sweaty, wild-eyed, frothy-mouthed, if-I-cant-take-it-in-camera-I-dont-want-it film buffs are shooting brackets and tone mapping the hell out of their photoshop'd pics. What's a Luddite that riots AND embraces the steam looms?

"A (semi-)concrete idea, so people will not end up spending their 20% on slashdot AND surfing porn."
Corrected the above, I know it was an oversight on your part.

"What if you were paying someone by a set rate to get a project done. Would you want to pay them for that 20% of the time that they would be using to do nothing towards your project?"
I you pay me to complete a project, not an hourly rate, then you have no business telling me how to do my job hour to hour. You are paying for the product, not the process. If I spend 3 hrs doing something and bill you for the completed work and the rate is competitive, what do you care? Do you really think it takes 3-6 weeks to make a passport? It takes about 3 minutes to evaluate the documents and hit "Print". You are paying for the passport not every micro-managed second in between.
Quite, 10,000 years ago the seas were 10 meters higher than they are today.
Or not.

The trick is to get one of the four corner squares.
All you need to do is add digital...then every office conversation will have dERP in it.

It's been my experience that everyone hates the English and no one really cares who they hate.

No one will ever figure out how to "decrypt" it.

I'm sure it's all perfectly accurate, but do we need to point it out? Googasm? Orgooglism?
How uncomfortable was it for Samsung after the 3rd hour of the judge riffing on how uncool they were...haha
I like the part of you that was for hesitation. You really believe that because something happened in the past it isn't provable?
Needs citation.

So what you're saying is Stripes was pretty accurate, 'cept for the John Candy part.
