  2. Remember when the police were paying Best Buy employees to inform on Geek Squad customers? I think that history shows there is no way you can grant low-lever worker bees unfettered ability to invade your privacy. Even NSA contractors who are relatively well paid, vetted, and know they're monitored can't resist the urge to abuse their power for personal benefit even when it's as petty as a few cheap laughs.

    It certainly ended up being a great idea. The fact that it was considered unnecessary while feudalism was still being practiced in relatively developed countries at the time shows how far we've fallen aside from the obvious more recent advances in civil rights.

    Well it's Canada so they don't have the same laws as we do but as a juror I agree I'd be tempted to let anyone off the hook as a statement against bringing magic gizmos into court regardless of what the law says.

    Well we're able to do that here because the 6th amendment of the bill of rights, specifically the right to face and question your accuser in court. Canada has similar laws but I believe there is no mention of a right to face your accuser.

    The truly terrifying thing is that the bill of rights was somewhat controversial at the time that it was written because it's opponents felt that all the rights it bestowed should be common sense and by having them enumerated so specifically it may cause people to believe they have no other rights.

    If I just met you and you start talking about power crystals in your ass or you keep mentioning the race of your neighbor when you tell me how much you don't like them, or maybe you think it's ok to invite me to your feltching workshop.     Yes they would. When they want to be palatable to the general population they're going to say all lives matter (but....).
    When they all get together then they'll say what they want. This is fringe politics 101 it doen't matter if you're a fat blue haired femnazi or a jackbooted neo-nazi the game is the same. It also works great when you're russia and you want america divided into crazy groups.

    Why say all lives matter anyhow? It's stupid of course they do, please explain to me the deeper meaning here cause I don't get it. "Black lives matter" is a rallying cry and an expression of frustration. There is more to the movement then just the name. I support BLM at least in principal because I know that as a white guy I have experienced police misconduct and I find it very easy to believe that if I were black I'd experience it more.
