"Facebook shareholders have sued the social network, CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and a number of banks, alleging that crucial information was concealed ahead of Facebook's IPO. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan this morning, charges the defendants with failing to disclose in the critical days leading up to Friday's initial public offering 'a severe and pronounced reduction' in forecasts for Facebook's revenue growth"..
That's only SEVEN days for the lawyers to file, must be a record there somewhere. I am also curious as to who really is behind this lawsuit. Did Zuckerberg piss off some financial house by not passing them a humongious bung to handle the IPO. Also who wrote these forcasts and where did they reside these past SEVEN days and how the the lawyers for the plaintiff get wind of them so quickly after the IPO. If they posessed such information prior to the IPO then why wait 'till after the IPO. Would such a lawsuit now provoke a selling scare at which some people might then snap it up at rock-bottom prices. The public have a right to know - you know.
"I almost agree... I dual boot win7 and Ubuntu and there is still no comparison. I get more work done while in win7...as soon as (insert your fav brand of Linux) can properly install my video, network, sound drivers without a glitch...
Out-of-the-Box I can watch videos and brows, without a glitch and including the MP4 files Microsoft don't want me to use. I also find with each new dumbed-down iteration of Windows, it gets harder to perform the simplest task without the GUI getting in the way.
"didn't stop files named like c:\playerhost.dll from ending up in my home directory, on Linux. I guess you can say that I was saved by Linux's lack of popularity on the desktop, nothing else".
No, you couldn't say that, how playerhost.dll got onto your home directory was you saved it there. And even if it was a Linux executable you would still have to perform a numbr of steps to get it to run, as well as supply the root password.

Third world economies desperately need to transition from subsitence farming to producing cash crops. I'm no fan of Monsanto, but their actions will ultimately be beneficial
No, in order to qualify for World Bank 'loans', third world economies are forced to produce cash crops to sell on the foreign market in order to pay off the self same 'loans'.

"Researchers at the Tokyo Institute of Technology have developed a new wireless transmission system that works above all currently regulated spectrum frequencies. The new system works at the range of 300GHz to 3THz (terahertz), which is the Far Infrared (FIR) frequencies of the infrared spectrum"
Except such frequencies are prone to interference and don't travel far and don't work well when the transmitter and receiver are moving, which means you need lots of base stations.
What vested interest decided to totally ignore Ron Pauls campaign. "Paul came in third in the Iowa Republican Caucus held on January 3, 2012", despite a total media blackout. Faux News even had to dub-in some boos when he won some vote. I guess the main problem with Paul is he hasn't been bought-and-paid-for unlike the rest of the candidates.
