Or trolling ? Or both ?
Anyway, if somebody is using mysql in any kind of environment, he surely has already heard of this by now unless he's living in a Cave, thanks to all the postgresql zealots.
btw, there's a correction to make in my post : I was thinking about "nameservers" (e.g. the root webservers) and not "webservers" (altough it would be fun to spoof windowsupdate).
In the register article: "The answer is that the battery life isn't so good," Reynolds said, adding that Turion-powered systems could have up to one-third less battery life than laptops running on Intel's ultra low voltage products.
so this Gartner analyst is trying to shift from the 25W pentium M that is often benchmarked to the 5W ULV one... but just for the battery...
Hum, it seems the y2k bug stroke at least once, see doc 25, page 33:
"The need for action was underscored in January 2000 when NSA experienced a catastrophic network outage of 3 1/2 days. This outage greatly reduced the signals intelligence information available to national decision makers and military commanders. As one result, the President's Daily Briefin - 60% of which is normally based on SIGINT - was reduced to a small portion of its typical size."
Oh, an a few paragraph above, they presented their favoured solution : outsourcing (to the industry).
Except that you can't be sure that the violator(s) broke an NDA or some other restriction. I would guess that in large coporation, there are always people which didn't signed any NDA for some reason (forgot to sign it, lawyer was sick,...).
All recent AMD mobile processor had the same socket and run in the same motherboard as they desktop version (some may better support the mobile features, some not)
Logically, it'll be the same for the turion, so just take a normal mATX motherboard and that should be ok.
This is contrary to you can do with intel's p-M, which has a nice price premium and requires special expensive motherboards.
It would be nice if somebody could point to the detailed condamnation and the motivations.
For all I've been able to (quickly) find, he has been condemned for intellectual property, namely counterfeiting. One possibility is that it's becausehe has published source code, which looks strange because it would be probably be the fair use (short citation for eduction). But it's probably because he pirated Tegam's software and didn't buy it.
"Il ne faut pas interpréter cette décision comme une condamnation du (EDIT : full disclosure), à mon sens : la même chose faite sur un programme licite ne tomberait probablement pas sous le coup de la loi." So that it is NOT condemning full disclosure and that such publiction made on a legal software wouldn't be sanctionned.
At the moment, it really looks like some people are screaming as loud as possible about that, but until the details are know that just PR operations from Guillermito and the others.

Ah-umh. Yes, they did, but on their own terms (also known as laws), and not according to the record companies dreams.
that they used unlicensed (free) version of Microsoft products like everone else ?
except that allofmp3.com does NOT violate any law and has properly took a license from the proper russian administraton.
Bzzzzz ...
;)
It finally ended beginning this (real-life) quarter, if this news was correct.
But it lasted more than 11 years
Don't forget that intel 130W is in "normal usage", which is not 100% CPU load ...
So you'll probably reach easily >150W.
Yep, 50 mpg in liters per 100 kilometers = 5.7, which means many cars already make that here.
Hence the goal was actually to reach 3 liters, which was reached by a VW lupo (almost 80 mpg).

Not something that could ever happen in USA or Canada.
Shit, I wanted to get into this program, but then the fine print read "Available in USA only".
:(
I guess it's another big innovation that we won't get
Well, it only ramps up to 50% for a few seconds (60) then stops (memory exhausted).
What's going on your FreeBSD box ?

I hope you've taken some precautions ... don't know, like making a white list for webservers ... or limiting the rate of new rules ...

Also nice to see apache still holding on against MS...
Well, you may want to read the article again. The first attacked 26 file sharers, then 31 new.
Out of the 26 first, 23 settled, the 3 other have been brought to court.
As they didn't state the result of the complain, it's probable that the case hasn't even been decided yet, maybe not even yet on first instance.
... and that [nobody gets it] makes it even more funny :)
...
Gosh, I wonder out of the 300+ viewers, how many people noticed that this was a sub-selection of dual ovens
Look at this product range from a well-known manufacturer. They already have that.

There should be a nice page explaining why Skype is bad (proprietary), and the advantage of using open, inter-operable solutions (SIP).
/. is paradoxal ...
Ok, I know, they may not be on par yet with skype, but still, seeing so much enthusiams for skype on
The first result with the link you gave is a news result point to this page. ;)
