    It's not about 'capable', it's about *interested*.
    If people of 1 specific gender is less interested in job X at company Y then yes, less people of that specific gender will apply for the job and appear working in that job.

    You're spot on.
    It's a counter-surveillance device that's used by both the Americans and the Canadians. It emits inaudible soundwaves at varying frequencies in a spread spectrum mode so that it can not be detected by integrative sound pressure detectors. It works by vibrating the air so violently that the objects that are targeted by a laser surveillance device, e.g.: windows, tile areas, are vibrating with an amplitude so much larger than would have resulted from a normal conversation, or even a shouting war for that matter, that the laser doppler surveillance devices get overmodulated and have no way to reconstruct the sound of the conversation.
    They are marketed by SpyLink Inc., and both US and Canada use them.
    It seems that adjusting the sound level is a bit tricky though...

    The reason he got fired was not the creation of a hostile workplace, but the fact his essay got published.
    I think management can only claim 'hostile workplace' if they can produce documents which prove they were worried about his essay way before it got in the open and viral.

    Yeah right, what Saddam (allegedly!) did to his people was a justification for 'the West' to destroy the whole country and its infrastructure and heavily pollute it with radioactive dust and debris from uranium shellings.

    Note the 'on average'. His approach is statistical, not absolute, and certainly not stereotypical. More biology-based.
    Now, what's wrong with that? I think Google are assholes for firing people with these capabilities.
    Actually I think Google has peaked and is now on its return.
