The concept of "thinking it is as bad as doing it"
Now which man is stronger? The man who isn't tempted and faithfully stays with his woman, or the man who is tempted but makes a consciental decision not to do it. That ability to make that choice is what makes you human, and the making of that choice itself is what makes you a good partner. Nuf said.
Unfortunately some partners already feel betrayed if you're even considering to look at somebody else, while you're still very much in love your partner. For example my (ex- by now) girlfriend used to be just about the definition of jealousy, but that never stopped me from talking to other woman. The fact that I love somebody does not give that person the right to prohibit me from communicating in a normal way with other human beings. In most of these cases the jealous person will either break up the relationship and keep running into the same situation for the rest of his/her life, os he/she will learn to adapt.
Aside from the fact that your product has a name, and when another product gets the same name, it get's really confusing. Now it could just be me, but the first thing that went through my head when reading the e-mail was: "Yeah, sounds reasonable". Now let's adress the other side, how much does OpenSSH have to lose from changing the name of the project, or at least specifically stating somewhere that OpenSSH=/=SSH?
I recently read an article on building callcenters which confirms what you said about Japanese working conditions and being cramped and all. As a side note, the same article also mentioned big plasma screens being cheaper in the long run than regular monitors due to the taking up of less space and less heat coming off which saves airco costs.
That's an easy one. When discussing anything M$, government or big-company related, you're supposed to feel sick, nauxious, disgusted, like going to the bathroom etc. When discussing open-source, *nix, big companies that are good at pretending they're not big companies(read: AMD) or Natalie Portman, you're supposed to feel all warm and tingly inside. Now we just need CmdrTaco to include this in the guidelines for the site, and life will be a lot easier on the moderators as well.
Actually, there are people more than willing to proclaim pro-MS feelings, and some of them actually have the guts to risk some karma at it. I happen to be running a WinME/Win2000 dualboot and I'm actually quite happy with it. I'm not saying that it's either better or worse than (fill in whatever open source piece of software you happen to be zealoting about), I'm merely stating that "it works for me".
Actually, the third Reich is the one that collapsed. The third rich is what some people might call "new money"...

My P90 still serves to play all my old Dos/Win95 games that won't run under WinME/Win2000. All things considered, I spent about as much time on my P90 as on my Duron 1000. Funny, isn't it, how Civilization has this "look Mom, the sun's coming up again" on people?
Does it really matter how much power the processor uses in notebooks when the screen sucks the battery dry?
Pardon my ignorance, but how about the "moving parts" of a laptop? I can imagine the harddisk taking up quite a bit of power as well, which could become very frustrating as you frantically try to save your hard work before you're out of power...
Any technology that will allow users to make better use of their existing equipment will win.
Mmmm, so we should all scale back to MS-Dos then? That should make my GigaHz PC scream, shouldn't it? Oh wait, Via Apollo Pro chipset has crappy IDE access under Dos, never mind.
The only experience I've had so far was the knowledge that a large number of their laptops have such cheap metal connectors for their IDE channels that they will melt off within the year...imagine Windows having to cope with harddisks disappearing half of the time. I wanna swap!!!

something tells me this will bring a revolution to the kinds of RSI that can be obtained from playing Quake. I wish thee all happy hunting.
OpenSSH is not defrauding anyone.
OpenSSH is confusing their users sufficiently for them to waste valuable time, money and bandwidth in trying to contact SSH for support.

You had your desktop for over a week? Throw that junk away man, it's an antique.
Weird Al Yankovic, It's all about the Pentiums.

Would you jump if Linus told you to?
Of course not! Who do you think I am? I'd first ask him how high he wanted me to jump, and then do the actual jumping. Jeez....
Don't ask me. BTW, Bermuda contains an "e" as well. How we gonna solve that once? Split the profits?
Can you still afford a laywer?
How about patenting Fire? Or a beard, for that matter....
Maybe I should just patent Bermuda itself and start charging all the /.ers who think they're rich...
OK, guess you're a little different then. I usually feel a lot better after having gone to the bathroom.
Tell me about it...one small remark yesterday and immediately a buch of zealots and trolls jump on top of it to bash each other's heads in...

Actually, I paid for nearly all my software, xcept, guess what, Windows...
the ACPI support is fantastic
Agreed, but if you've got enough IRQ's, I'd still whole-heartedly recommend turning it off. Some cards just won't share IRQ's, period.

-= I own your ass! =-
Sure man, if you say so. You don't mind paying for my toilet paper from now on, do you?
The same man who once followed the belief that if all he ate were fruits and nuts that he wouldn't need to bathe.
Not to mention that he's a militant member of the CtptecA(Comite to promote the eating of Apples)...
