One of the ways in which younger Net users separate themselves from their elders is by seeing themselves as apolitical, cutting-edge technologists. Perhaps this is because so many of their elders talked incessantly about revolution, but didn't manage to make one. They, on the other hand, are creating a revolution and don't seem to know it.
Or they're using the Net the way it is right now, a virtual necessity. You apply for a job? Better make sure you have a professionally sounding e-mail adress. Bought a new video-card? Better get the latest drivers. Need to take a train tomorrow? Check the schedules on the web. There's nothing illusive about the Net for young people, it's already an integral part of their lives, much like television was for the generation before. The web is a tool, it's just that it's useful in more ways than a screwdriver.
Let's put it this way. I consider just about anything to be vapor until the moment it displays on my screen. A processor becomes real once I can stroke the Core gently in anticipation...
Why? DVD zoning is technology, or at least an aspect of it, and therefore it is evil(tm). This is just the first step, first DVD zoning, then DVD's themselves, which will render the DVD players obsolete, not to mention not having to import PS2's anymore...
My fellow Americans...we're doing something wrong!
Seems the Aussi's will be our next world leaders. Guess I'll have to practice on my English, eh?

These "Lunar Phenomena", are what influences your body and mind. Food digestion is partly regulated by day and night. Most people I know behave slightly different under a full moon (including yours truly...) and I'm sure there's more...
I'm not sure developing robots through evolution is a good thing. If they're evolutionary scale follows Moore's law instead of natural evolutionary scales, they could evolve into new species in years, instead of hundreds of thousands of years.
If robots are to even slightly resemble computers, they're not going to evolve at all unless we apply 6 bug-fixes and 4 patches, only to find out we'll have to do all the coding again just because RobotSoft(tm) 2010 just came out...
When the Mac GUI was first developed, it was aimed for being used by 6 year olds. Guess how many calls I get each day from people who who their local version of Ph D behind their name? "Point and grunt" sounds like an expresson suitable for subtle tech-support though. So where can I get a good voice recognition program?
You Linux Zealots ought to be rounded up, put on a ship, and then sunk. I bet you'd make a pretty decent addition to the coral reef.
Sounds like a decent plot for a new horror movie: Slashdot meets Titanic 2: The Aftermatch.
They have a useful network infrastructure and are generations ahead of wap, which is likely the nearest competitor.
Wap competition? You have to be kidding me. WAP's a joke, and it's even worse than the jokes I usually make.

Getting four hours battery life under Windows and two hours under Linux is disappointing.
Since you need twice as much time to get anything done under windows, what else can you expect?
Major challenges include packaging, power and cooling as well as the major issue of programming and program control.
Now listen carefully, precious army of self constructing robots. Your first important mission will to assemble your own Peltier units.
Oh, of course. A killer fungus from outer space plot to kill George W. Bush. So, where do I sign up?
No I didn't. I thought I solved that thing after the famous 2001 "Blaster Launcher Incident" on Cydonia...
Guess the fungus got 'em, eh?
Hah, who needs Toast anyway? Just making sure that the coffee's black as my soul when I get home is all I'll ever need...
So who wants to erase a professionally designed operating system that costs hundreds of dollars to replace it with Slackware?
There are people that payed for Windows 2000 you know...
Coding all day, coding all night, and then finally, critical!
Sorry, I don't have time to reply. I have to set up a DVD business in Aussi-land...
My country maybe. The Netherlands. After the law for 'legal killing' we just implemented a few extra riots won't call much attention.

And it should cook rice perfectly every time.
If you can afford this puppy, you should be able to hire a real cook, shouldn't you?
That's not really what I had in mind when I read "Handhelp"...
I've just filed my patent application for being British. Guess we'll be talking about the Not-French Telecom pretty soon.

The future of the world could depend on my Starcraft skills!
That does it. Please excuse me while I kill myself.
One word: Hypnodisc.
Now I can build really big "Creatures". Obladi! Honga! So who'll build the Grendel?
