Of course it is. It doesn't stop being an issue just because it can be done in other ways as well. It doesn't stop being an issue because it can't be fixed (more like the opposite in that case).
If they fix it this way, blackhats use javascript..
Maybe, but Javascript won't do a nearly as good job as XUL itself to make pretty much a 100% identical version of the interface that's interactive and all.
I think he meant that MSN Search is already the IE default but still has a lower share than Google, hence MS need to do something truly revolutionary to overtake Google's lead with its good reputation with accurate searches.
Thanks for the tip! I didn't know you could check for "degradation levels" like this. Sounds like a great tool to see aging problems, which kinds of CD/DVD's to avoid, and when it's time to backup your data.;-)
I guess I'll dig up some old CD's and check!
Maybe I can do my own little test on a webpage.:-)
The only thing I know is that DVD-RAM is supposed to be more reliable.
But again, with no actual large scale tests across different manufacturers with artificial aging, at least as far as I know, it's hard to know how big difference.:-/
Hmm, is even DVD's from established brands like Verbatim, TDK, and so on suffering from the dreaded "DVD rot"?
I'm a bit concerned by this phenomenon and think surprisingly little is said about it, when you consider how common these media area. Has studies been made with comparisons from different brands? I'm not sure a study of unknown brands are very helpful since there could be great differences between different manufacturers, or?
I would never buy a DVD from, say, Princo or other budget brands, and really hope the money I spend on established brands are worth it.:-/
By the way... It's kind of funny -- in the first link above, they explain they had to stop shooting public nudity afterwards because, on one of the photos, they accidentally photographed some important building in the city they didn't like to be on the same photo as the girl.:-) So not because of the nudity per se. It's a quite funny read (you'll only READ right?;-)).
Europe had free nudity on TV and on the beaches (Canadain women can even walk around topless)...
There are european countries were women can walk around 100% nude (no, no panties) in a city if that's what you wish.:-)
I kind of agree with this -- I mean OK if they don't want to show sexual acts, but walking around nude or sunbathing nude is hardly a sexual act to me. So few people would do it anyway because they feel awkward with it that it's hardly a problem if allowed anyway.
To be clear - the value of the SI prefixes do NOT change, no matter what you happen to be measuring. Thats the entire point of the SI system, for crying out loud!
The IEC came up with Kibi etc to avoid confusion where the SI units when used for computer storage were set to 2^10, etc.
Here's another quote:
The IEEE Standards Board decided that IEEE standards will be using the conventional, internationally adopted, definitions of the base-ten SI prefixes, except that the base-two definition may be used if such usage is explicitly pointed out on a case-by-case basis.
... but it's so *exciting* to execute virus attachements!
^--- Actually, that's one of the reasons they do it according to a research I've seen. Sort of like "mmm... what happens if I lick this metal bar when it's freezing cold outside? oops, tongue stuck!" even if they knew it before.
Really strange, and probably a documented psychological behavior.:-)
Regarding that SuperShadow site, I've heard that it's mostly just bogus info and he's faking his identity as a friend of George Lucas etc. So take all info there with a grain of salt. However, the link above for the Star Wars movie formula is solid info and kind of funny/interesting.
Ah, I hadn't heard about that speculation and only thought that he assumed the role at the end. Since I'm not just looking for a black costume, that would be good enough for me if true.:-)
... and now, the annoying part is that Vader will be in, what was it said, only the last 5 minutes or so?
I would be more excited if the actual transformation took place somewhere in the middle of the movie and we actually saw the effects of Darth Vader rising to power, but so far I haven't seen anything telling this.
Well, if I'd be a kid today, or maybe a kid 20-30 years from now, I would certainly be interested in hearing a little about the experiences from first-generation FPS players. For the same reason a car enthusiast would be interested today in hearing about some stories from a 70 year old about how it was to have real old cars back then. I mean -- imagine how different the games will be then. Doom might almost be like Pong in 30 years.:-)
When I was at this stage, we solved it by playing on the school's computers. I fondly remember all long... *cough* school days.:-)
Of course we were thrown out a couple of times and soon got a bad reputation (our class happened to be the worst abusers of school resources), so was it really worth it...?
Yes, I also used GIF if there was a doubt PNG wouldn't be supported in the application the graphics was aimed for. As for all internet graphics, I switched to PNG there, and only used GIF if the image had to be transparent due to IE's infamous PNG transparency bug.
Actually, IE doesn't even seem to support the "GIF style" transparency (i.e. not alpha channels) for PNG images, where you set a color to act as the transparent color. It looks like it works correctly until you notice there's often a slight lightness change for the "transparent" color in the rectangular area (the bounding box) the PNG image uses compared to the underlying background color. Annoying...:-(
Its not really an issue though..
Of course it is. It doesn't stop being an issue just because it can be done in other ways as well. It doesn't stop being an issue because it can't be fixed (more like the opposite in that case).

Dont underestimate the power that is "IE default"

Ha ha, you dorks, use MSH like a man!
:-o
I wonder how this will get modded?
(It's a shell, it's not susposed to be exciting)
Pfft... I thought geeks browsed Slashdot!

Well, search your favourite P2P network for "MVC-630F.JPG" and derivatives of. That should get you going.
Searching the web works even better!

I think you're both right. Go here for example:

Hm?

If they wouldn't support HD-DVD in Longhorn it would be big news though.
- Uhh, yes, we designed a video format that will be used on these discs, but Longhorn won't support them.

Google email, gmail, is in BETA.
This is about Google Search, not Gmail.

Hmm... But for something like a movie title, you'd think they referred to something happening in the movies. All the other 5 titles do.
Well, if I'd be a kid today, or maybe a kid 20-30 years from now, I would certainly be interested in hearing a little about the experiences from first-generation FPS players. Could not afford a system that could run Doom
:-)

Hell yes!
Some suggestions have already been mentioned, and of course Macromedia Dreamweaver MX also supports XHTML. :-)
Yes, because when you use a Mac, even if you're stoned, you'll get high grades.
... and they were released two years ago. :-S
:-)
Compare this to this, for example.
So what you're saying is: "Yes, I didn't."
No, what I'm saying is "Yes, I did, with some exceptions (like on the internet)".
Yes, I also used GIF if there was a doubt PNG wouldn't be supported in the application the graphics was aimed for. As for all internet graphics, I switched to PNG there, and only used GIF if the image had to be transparent due to IE's infamous PNG transparency bug.
