  1. Japanese Knot Weed on Alabama Wages War Against the Perfect Weed · · Score: 5, Informative

We have the same problem in the UK with Japanese Knot Weed. Nothing eats it, it can respawn from the smallest cutting. So you can't burn it, you can't throw it away, you can only poison it. And each stem has to be done individually, and the process needs to be repeated two or three times to kill the bloody thing. They're talking about introducing some japanese insects that feed on it, but then what's to say they wont prefer strawberries or wheat or something else?

Porn mode doesn't have it's own set of bookmarks though does it? So what FF really needs is some optional password when entering porn mode that refreshes all the porn bookmarks. That's the way to go.

In the Uk we already pay 86.9p per litre, which currently translates to $6.35 US. It's no big deal. It was at $7.16 US not long ago. About the same time the Yanks were complaining about going over $3. You don't know how lucky you are.

My gf got run into waiting to turn right (in UK) by a car behind. These are the risks that all cyclists run when venturing out on the roads in the UK. I don't know a single regular cyclist who hasn't been side swiped. It takes some guts to get back on a bike after that. She's OK btw. Who can blame someone for cycling on a pavement after something like that?

Do Americans not have manual gearboxes, or are you saying they're stupid? How do they get down steep hills without engine braking? How do they select the highest possible gear when driving in icy conditions? How do you accelerate quickly to overtake without dropping a gear and flooring it? What are automatics actually good for?

    > This is quite reasonable.

I cant help but agree, and its probably the first time that I can think of the European Union doing something reasonable. Since commercial copyright theft is believed to fund organized criminals who also control drugs and prostitution, then the EU has said catagroically that these people are a lot worse than those who infringe copyright at home. Hooray!

I'd still like to see the copyright laws returned to 14 years after publication, but you cant win them all.

I thought the guy basically said that betamax videos were too short, 1 hour, meaning that people couldn't record a movie. Still, he does go on a bit as he often does. And he has a pop at linux, but linux isn't meant to be a whole product. Since the majority of people who make it better do so without trying to make money from it, they aren't too bothered about the "whole product." Linux will just keep getting better and better until no other system can touch it...

Thats a load of rubbish. If the government says to the ISP's stop connecting to outside countries then they have to. It would be the Law. All you have to do is turn off the phone lines. Once you stop other countries from interfereing with your bit of the web you register the servers and your away. Spend £100Million and you can censor the whole thing. simple.
