  1. Re:Everyone ignores Commodore on Jack Tramiel, Founder of Commodore Business Machines, Dies At Age 83 · · Score: 0

I bought a Commodore 64 in '83. I totally loved it. Programming in Basic was easy but dumb. It had excellent graphics, but the synthesizer portion was even better. Later in that decade I bought a hdd, $600.00 for a 600 KB drive the size of a large toaster. The best game was 117A stealth fighter. I still wish I had that game today. I got very tired of the tape cassette thingy; it was so slow. Jumpman was good too. God bless Jack, he made my life a lot of fun.

Anybody that knows about the Revolutionary War, can see that they tried politics, but that didn't work. And the script kiddies, at least they're doing something. Better than /.'s just giving their personal opinions. If your government doesn't listen to the people, it probably won't survive for very long.

  4. Where do we Protest? on New CISPA Cybersecurity Bill Even Worse Than SOPA · · Score: 0

Everybody needs to get together and protest CISPA. Where should we go, who should we write, where should we protest? This is America!! Our collective voice still counts, I think.

  5. Re:How convenient on China Admits Anonymous Hacks Occured · · Score: 0

I have a friend, a former professional pilot. He was fired from his job because he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. He believes that the Apollo 11 show was filmed in China. Now that we have cameras that can take pictures of objects on the moon from earth, I told him that most of the Apollo 11 debris can be photographed. He claims that the debris was "shot up there" in the 90's. There is no winning with this guy. Paranoid schizophrenia is a sad disease, yes, very. He now lives in the woods.

I think some people don't understand the difference between java and java script. After learning python, I realize how much fun java can be. They're both interesting. Very relate-able. From C, C++. Both languages are very powerful languages. More fun than plain old C.

I believe anyone can search cellphone records, as long as they don't use the information in court as evidence in court. Am I right or wrong? I would like some info that can be substantiated.

I used to build custom computers for auto dealerships and small engineering companies. Dealt with newegg almost exclusively. Whenever I had to get something on the same day, I would go to a Best Buy and look around. They were fairly competitive. Then somewhere around 2009, their prices stated getting ridiculous. It was cheaper to overnight a product from newegg, than it was to buy it at Best Buy. Plus, their technical expertise was a very lacking. Geek Squad was a joke." If it doesn't work, don't fix it, replace it. We'll sell you this bogus computer for way too much. Crap-ware included for free." GOOD BYE!!!!

That might be a good idea. Instead of having a single window pop up with variable choices, have another one show where you are going in a flowchart. Two windows, one with choices, the other shows the flowchart. Good idea, maybe. It might confuse some people, like 95% of the users. Maybe in the far, far future, they could learn something. I think it might be that way someday, when Captain Kirk is around or even later.

That's what I was wondering. After a hard day at the lab, they were probably sitting around drinking some wine, and someone said, " Screw this stupid experiment". The most drunk researcher took the bottle of wine and poured it on the iron telluride. The digital readouts went crazy. But all were drunk and nothing was recorded until the next day. More grant funds. Slashdot will hear about this.

  15. Re:There's Your Problem Right There on Tennessee Passes Bill That Allows "Teaching the Controversy" of Evolution · · Score: 0, Flamebait

Everyone I know, including myself, who has spent time in Tenn., claims there might be something mentally wrong with the people there. Water supply, incest, basic EDUCATION, whatever. We don't ever want to go back, except maybe Memphis BBQ. Nashville is full of "Country Music singer wannabees" who are in la-la land. I think Tennessee needs to update their education system to at least the 20th century.
