At time of writing, the White House is still intact, despite a misleading header on Netscape.com. It's been evacuated (and thus 'hit' as in 'hindered'), but has NOT been destroyed.
Newswires also reporting that pretty much every tall building in the Western world is being evacuated, including Canary Wharf, London and the London Stock Exchange.
Spurious reports of a crash into Chicago are at this time believed to be false.
Technically, yes. Hell, my earlier comment has a link to my web site.
But, let's face it, there will be thousands, if not tens of thousands, of downloads here. I wouldn't be too bothered; and if you are, there are mirrors all over IRC - #windowsxp on DALnet is one IIRC.
Heh. No, it's not code, that was just bad phrasing in the article. It's the iso of Windows XP RC1 from the Preview Program, available to people who subscribe, pay and get their Passport checked.
Or who know how to use IRC or read these comments;)
Unless MS have patched it (and it seems not), here are the instructions:
1) Get a download manager (I use Mass Downloader - the important thing is that it can change the user-agent field)
2) Set it to download http://svmsftwxp.conxion.com/download/wxp_pro_rc1. iso - but set the user-agent to "Download Manager" (no quotes)
3) Sit back while just under 500Mb is downloaded
4) Burn and install. It's apparently valid and the proper code.

Microsoft Corporation [NASDAQ:RPOFF] today went bankrupt after being forced to pay $1 to a customer every time their software crashed. A distraught CEO, William Gates III, was left in shock today. He was quoted as saying "how can $500 billion disappear so fast?" before running and sobbing in a corner.
...It would make it a criminal offense to fraudulently use another individual's e-mail address to send spam...
Could you define fraudulently? Without consent? Forged? Guessed? How do you fraudulently use an e-mail address?
For those who just tuned in and are confused (why aren't they destroying each other? thus su><ors!!!), the rules of the game are here. It's co-operative, and there are several objectives... read this, and enjoy the show:)
The kid's actions were wrong. He should not have published such images to the world. The *assistant principal* (not the school) had every right to report him to a) his parents, b) his ISP or c) the law.
The school, however, had no right to expel him - it was nothing to do with them. Therefore, I believe the judgment to be correct. Just.
Lengthier explanation:
The whole infrastructure of the net is such that if one person charges for information, someone else will likely put similar information up for free. Or alternatively, an entire "infowarez" culture could start.
I don't think people will pay for *information* alone...

Looks like there's no stopping NVidia. Of course, this only adds to the vicious cycle of hardware upgrades - upgrade hardware, the developers code more advanced stuff, upgrade hardware, wash, rinse, repeat...

Please remember this is not confirmed.
Well, Scott-Berkely's more suited for online play: subtlety really comes out over the 'net.
I'll go for Ealing Broadway (hence declaring a state of emergency).
A fantastic game for experienced players, but newcomers can sometimes be confused at the start.
It's played on the stations of the London Underground network. For example, I could start with Albright's Opening, *Regent Street*.
Anyone want to take me on?

I wondered where that one crept in...
Sorry, my bad. Copy and paste error somewhere...

For Win9x boxes, WebWasher is free, and does just that. Anyone know of one for Linux?

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
Ah, thank you. I thought something wasn't right - I read it as referring to the address it's sent to.

Text-based Ads or Google's fantastic AdWords are the way forward, I feel.

But since every person's DNA is different (with the exception of identical twins), isn't every cell unique?
Thus, could he patent your DNA without your consent? And then sue you for using it? Okay, maybe not, but it would make an interesting court case...
Ummm... can you say "libel"?
