They have already started to upgrade to 3Mbps down in certain areas. All I had to do is reboot my modem and it received the new settings. Check DSL Reports for reports in your area.
I would also like to point out that there is a $75 rebate on all Sony XM receivers.
Also Delphi just released SKYFi another receiver that can move between the home and the car. Also the SKYFi includes a remote and in my opinion looks better than the Sony. It cost $130 -- Receiver
$70 -- Home
$70 -- Car mount
$50 -- FM modulation ------- $320
I love my SKYFi and I have only had it for three days.
Filezilla is GPL FTP Client that looks very close to CuteFTP. I havn't used it but someone else I know loves it. Their website says they also support SFTP.
Poor guy he has only a 144K connection from Version. Wait till slashdot gets done with that connection. He will not be able to use the internet for hours.
I feel for you. I too am at a school and want to d/l the new kernal but I'm stuck here at school. I wish we had CD-R at my HS like they do at the Middle School. One of these days we'll get CD-R!!
Plus at school we have a T1 and at home I have a terrible 56k.

All I want to say is thank you for finding out the real size of the monolith. It seams that the media doesn't care about the ratio but we sure do!!
Thanks again.

My school system each year has an auction for old obsolete and not working equipment (ie. chairs desks sewing machines, etc). This year they had an auction and had some 486s and a P75. They had monitors, HD( 3 550MB and a 800MB), keyboards. I took all of them and some NICs and now I have two linux boxes running and they are networked to my main computer. I paid nothing for them. B/c if no one bids on them they are free and that is exactly what I did!

thats hilarious!!!
I know he was making a joke. The sad thing is that it is informative because it is something the US goverment would write a grant for.
I bet if they did follow this guys advice they would get the 5 million dollars to study what the back button should do.
