Unless the MLB can claim IP on the game itself they will loose out eventually. In a year or so the fantasy leagues will be more competitive, more interesting and more commercial then anything the stadiums have to offer. Anyways, any sportsorganization that claims to have a world series but fails to have a team present at the real world cups does not have a legitimate claim on existence anyways..
Mmm, Dutch banks don't seem to have that problem. I have a small calculator for which I need my debit card and a pin code to generate a time dependent 8 digit number which has only single use validity. I can't figure why people trust username password stuff for their banking....
suppose i make a mistake of 100 EURO. Say that I overpay a bill for that amount. Would you not agree that somebody else is about to receive 100 extra? In other words. The 10B amount is only correct if all that money flows away from the US or at least from US companies...
It is the same kind of c**P that you hear on the coverage of the economy. Investors lost a gazillion dollars today when stock X closed lower. Bullocks! some other investors got their stocks a lot cheaper.
In the Netherlands several of these projects have taken off. the most wellknown is wireless Leiden. It is IP based, but it is not connected to the Internet. Users use to watch videos and and highstream stuff and some local school use is as a LAN.
Although not a solution to run inhouse it does keep out a lot of other OS'es. completely webbased. I only checked out the free version which seem to work fine with Mozilla. Forget for now the accounts receivable part though:-)
If you wish to know who will decide where the combined Suse Linux goes then look at the holdings of Safeguard Scientific (if that is the correct spelling). The whole merger between Cambridge Technology Partners and Novell was invented in the Safeguard boardroom as well.
In this light it might be interesting to know that HP was one of the largest customers of CTP mainly caused by introductions of Safeguard.
Mr. Messman, Novell's boss, is completely financially motivated. His longlasting background in Oil made him, in the eyes of a 14% stakeholder in Cambridge Technology Partners (CATP) an excellent new CEO for the company. Cambridge now longer exists but is now part of Novell. My big beef with mr. Messman is that his management style of Cambridge was similar to the management style of a large oil company. Which is to say: Strict cost control on a heavily asset based company. But assets are not the same as technology, inventions and this kind of IP related business does not compare with the OS services that SuSe provides.
My question is: "What makes a beancounter from the oil industry a good fit for an international IT services company?" especially if you take into account his trackrecord with Cambridge Technology Partners?
My first line of code was written on a VIC20 (at a friends place) after delivering lots of newspapers i finally got the money to buy a C64. Awesome, hacking away in assembler. Those C++ and C hackers are really only weenies...
