Your probably right, I think much of this is all about $$$. It's not that the admins are "lazy" exactly, it's just that they don't want anyone to get upset enough to actually go home and not pay their tuition.

Too true. Many sites have giant "DOWNLOAD" buttons that are just malware, then a small text link of the actual software.
At least it makes it easier to identify the people who are first in line up against the wall...
